"Destiny and Saving" Episode 26: Love, Loss, and Tough Choices
Okay, so Feng Lixue is back at Shao Hao Palace, and she's not happy to see Poyun all beat up. Poyun, ever the loyal protector, is actually mad at her for coming back! He thinks she should be off living her best life with Mo Xiao. Talk about a selfless friend.
Then Zi Ying shows up with the new Empress attire, but she also drops a major truth bomb: Chong Guang doesn't actually love Feng Lixue. He wants to marry her for the Bingqing Fu inside her. Apparently, it needs to merge with the one he has to reach its full potential. Feng Lixue remembers Feng Xingtian making her swallow something as a kid, claiming it would save her life. Plot twist!
Meanwhile, Ji Xingluo is stuck in jail, and Wu Shuang pays her a visit. Ji Xingluo is understandably salty that she's the only one locked up after their little heist. Wu Shuang reveals that Chong Guang is only letting her off the hook because of Ye Yuan. She promises Ji Xingluo that she'll get their kid back and break her out of prison when the time is right. Aww, sisterly love (with a side of crime).
Yuan Beichen wakes up and hears that Mo Xiao is seriously ill. He immediately wants Xuan Qing to go heal him, but Xuan Qing points out that Shi Bujiu is already on the case and that her priority is Yuan Beichen's recovery. Yuan Beichen is super invested in Mo Xiao, even wanting him to be the next sect leader. Murong Changfeng, however, thinks Mo Xiao needs more experience.
And then...poof! Mo Xiao vanishes. Everyone's scrambling to find him. Xie Lingyun has a hunch about where he might be and takes Zisu and Murong Jing to go look for him.
Turns out, Mo Xiao is in that illusionary space with Feng Lixue, totally lost in his memories of her. Xie Lingyun finds him and gets the whole story: Feng Lixue only went down the mountain with him to protect him and help him achieve his goals.
Back at Shao Hao Palace, Chong Guang finds Feng Lixue spacing out instead of trying on her new Empress dress. She confronts him, accusing him of being responsible for her father's death through some dark magic. Chong Guang expects her to want revenge, but instead, Feng Lixue kneels and asks him to remove the Bingqing Fu from her body. She just wants to be herself and not his Empress. Chong Guang says nothing and just leaves. Cold!
Mo Xiao, in the meantime, is busy gathering building materials. He locks himself in a barrier, refusing to let Xie Lingyun and the others in. When he finally emerges, he's built a replica of the home he shared with Feng Lixue. It's his way of giving her a home, even if they can't be together. He then heads back to Shushan with Xie Lingyun and the crew.
Feng Lixue goes to Chong Guang and asks to go home and reclaim her position as leader of the Tianxing Sect. Chong Guang offers her a deal: drink this potion that will make her forget everything, and she can leave. If she refuses, she has to be his obedient Empress. Drinking the potion means forgetting Mo Xiao. After a lot of agonizing, she downs it.
Chong Guang is clearly hurting too, tears streaming down his face. He agrees to let her go, releasing her from her duties at Shao Hao Palace and allowing her to return as the young leader of the Tianxing Sect.
Feng Lixue tells Poyun the good news, and he's thrilled. But alone, she's tormented by memories of Mo Xiao. She desperately tries to hold onto those memories, reminding herself that he's the only comfort in her life. She uses her powers to force the potion onto the Bingqing Fu, but it's too much, and she collapses, coughing up blood. Chong Guang senses the disturbance in the Bingqing Fu and rushes to her side, taking her away to heal her.
When Feng Lixue wakes up, she begs Chong Guang to forget her, saying she can't hate him, but she can't love him either. She declares their relationship over. Chong Guang is furious and decides to grant her wish, taking back the magic he gave her. Feng Lixue screams in agony as the magic is ripped away.
Chong Guang banishes Feng Lixue from Mount Suyu, severing all ties. Poyun carries her away, while Chong Guang is left heartbroken. Chang Ming reminds him not to forget his grand plan.
Mo Xiao returns to Shushan. Yuan Beichen suggests celebrating Yuan Beichen's recovery and Mo Xiao's return. Yuan Beichen proposes passing the Shushan leadership to Mo Xiao at the upcoming Immortal Sects conference. Xie Tianjun is happy with this and even plans to pass his position to Xie Lingyun so he can retire. Yuan Beichen believes Mo Xiao has the ability to lead Shushan against Chong Guang, fearing that Chong Guang will lead the demon clan to cause chaos like Ye Yuan did. He believes Mo Xiao, as Feng Yue's disciple, is the best person to stop Chong Guang.
Yuan Beichen then calls Mo Xiao to his room privately, while Murong Changfeng praises Lu Jianchuan's abilities and recommends him to read more books.
Murong Ce doesn't believe Mo Xiao was seriously ill and questions Murong Jing about it. Murong Jing reveals the truth, explaining that Mo Xiao was depressed for three days after Feng Lixue left. Murong Ce hopes Mo Xiao can truly focus and be worthy of the leadership position.
