"Destiny and Saving" Episode 34: Recap & Spoilers

So, Shi Bujiu manages to bring Mo Xiao back from the brink. Turns out, Mo Xiao wasn't exactly dead; he just didn't want to wake up. Shi Bujiu clears out the nasty energy blocking him, and Mo Xiao finally comes to. Shi Bujiu reveals he'd heard about the whole Shushan drama and had been searching for Mo Xiao, suppressing his spiritual and demonic energies to keep him hidden. He tells Mo Xiao to chill and recover in the fishing village, figuring no one will find him there.

Mo Xiao's pretty torn up, though. He's been training for 18 years, only to discover he's basically a demon. He even wanted to off himself, but Shi Bujiu saved him. When Mo Xiao opens the door, he sees the villagers are terrified of him. He's never felt so hated. Desperate, he walks into the crowd, begging them to kill him, promising not to fight back, saying they'll gain power if they do. He even shouts that he's the Demon Lord's son, practically begging for death. The village chief smacks Mo Xiao, sending him flying. The old Taoist priest just stands there, looking like he's waiting for the end. The chief raises his crutch again, but Shi Bujiu stops him, scolding him for the attack and demanding compensation. Turns out, Shi Bujiu is the village's carefree elder. The chief argues Mo Xiao has demonic energy and can't stay, ordering him thrown into the Li River. Shi Bujiu is furious, accusing the chief of being ungrateful. He reminds him how he protected him when he was being chased, which allowed him to become the village chief. But the chief ignores him.

The four headmasters, having heard about Ye Yuan's son, go to see Chong Guang. Meanwhile, Wu Shuang sends a letter to the Seven Caves and Nine Abyss, asking for help in finding Mo Xiao. They all ask Chong Guang if they should search for him. Chong Guang publicly states that they should find him. Someone warns Chong Guang that if Mo Xiao returns, it could threaten his position. They also suggest Chong Guang should activate the Tianmo Order, so he remains their leader. Chong Guang understands their true intentions: whoever activates the Tianmo Order becomes the leader.

Chong Guang reminds everyone that Mo Xiao is Feng Yue Sword Spirit's disciple. Even if he can activate the Tianmo Order, he might not lead them to seize the Qian Qiu Ling. Chong Guang shows them a vision of himself seizing the Qian Qiu Ling, reminding them that only he can do it. The crowd immediately bows to Chong Guang.

Xuyuan Yunchao visits Feng Lixue, revealing that Mo Xiao is Ye Yuan's son. He wonders if Mo Xiao will come when he hears about Feng Lixue's wedding, but Feng Lixue remains expressionless. Chong Guang arrives, suggesting Xuyuan Yunchao should stay home with Wu Shuang instead of visiting Feng Lixue. He tells Xuyuan Yunchao that he has announced his wedding with Feng Lixue, and everyone knows it. If Mo Xiao is alive, he will definitely return, which is exactly what he wants. Xuyuan Yunchao leaves. Chong Guang notices Feng Lixue's hand hasn't stopped pouring water, overflowing the cup. Chong Guang gently holds Feng Lixue's hand and places the Feng Yue Sword in front of her, entrusting it to her until Mo Xiao returns, so they can return it to him together.

Shi Bujiu rescues Mo Xiao from the river and scolds the chief again. The chief tries to persuade Shi Bujiu and Mo Xiao to stay and see how the villagers survive.

Mo Xiao walks through the village, watching the villagers work together to move stones. Because the Li River has undercurrents, the chief fears it will flood the village one day. As members of the Nvwa clan, they must prepare for the future.

Some men are carrying a huge rock uphill when a child comes to bring water to his father. The rope suddenly breaks, and the rock falls. Everyone is terrified, but the chief remains calm, guessing that Mo Xiao will save the child. Sure enough, Mo Xiao stops the rock and saves the child.

The chief deliberately makes Mo Xiao do hard labor in the village, believing physical pain is better than emotional pain. Mo Xiao works with everyone but eats alone. He overhears people talking about Chong Guang and Feng Lixue's wedding, and Mo Xiao quickly leaves.

Feng Lixue, dressed in a red queen's robe, appears before Mo Xiao. Mo Xiao takes Feng Lixue to the Demon Clan's palace and orders a three-day celebration for the Demon Lord's wedding. Wu Shuang can't sleep, knowing Chong Guang's wedding is a trap to lure out Mo Xiao. She waits for Mo Xiao's return.

Chong Guang suddenly asks Feng Lixue if she's happy. Feng Lixue is expressionless. Chong Guang grabs Feng Lixue's hand and asks again loudly, causing the dancers to stop and stare. Chong Guang begs Feng Lixue to wake up and talk to him. This is Chong Guang's happiest night, but Feng Lixue remains unresponsive. He doesn't want Feng Lixue to be his puppet but his lover. Seeing Feng Lixue still unmoved, Chong Guang tries to kiss her, but he feels a backlash in his chest. Chong Guang still wants to pursue his happiness. If the Bingqing Fu merges and he uses the power of the three sacred stones, he can overcome the backlash, but the pain is intense.

Mo Xiao goes to the river to release a lantern, thinking about the happy times he and Feng Lixue shared. But the pain in his wrist reminds him that he is also the Shushan leader.

When Shi Bujiu discovers Mo Xiao is missing, he searches all night and finds him unconscious by the river. Shi Bujiu wakes Mo Xiao again and realizes he has been crying. He assumes Mo Xiao heard about Yuan Beichen's death, advising him that the dead cannot be revived. Mo Xiao is shocked to learn that Yuan Beichen is dead. The new leader, Murong Changfeng, plans to throw Yuan Beichen's body into Ghost Valley, where all Shushan disciples must guard the tomb. Mo Xiao rushes off.

Xie Tianjun wants to find Murong Changfeng to reason about Yuan Beichen's death, but Xuan Qing opposes it, telling Xie Tianjun that Yuan Beichen didn't want them to stand up for him.
