Lei Jiayin as Li Shande
Li Shande is a low-ranking official serving as a supervisor in Chang'an's Shanglin Park during the Tang Dynasty. Often the designated scapegoat, Li Shande is framed by his colleagues and finds himself assigned a seemingly impossible mission.
He is tasked with transporting fresh lychees from Lingnan, a region over 5,000 miles to the south, all the way to the capital city of Chang'an. The delivery must be completed in time for the Noble Consort's birthday, a monumental challenge given that the fruit is known to spoil within three days. Faced with what is essentially a death sentence for failure, Li Shande accepts the perilous assignment to protect his family. He must rely on his wits and resilience to overcome the treacherous journey and the political machinations working against him.
Yue Yunpeng as Zheng Ping'an
Zheng Ping'an is a socially adept attendant, skilled at navigating various social situations. As the brother-in-law of the protagonist, Li Shande, he accompanies him on the journey to Lingnan to undertake the daunting mission of transporting fresh lychees.
Na Er Na Qian as A Mi Ta
A Mi Ta, portrayed by Na er na xi, is the president of the Hushang Chamber of Commerce (a guild for foreign merchants).
She is characterized as a highly perceptive and astute businesswoman. When the protagonist, Li Shande, is tasked with the perilous mission of transporting fresh lychees over a great distance to the capital, A Mi Ta is quick to recognize the significant business opportunity hidden within the challenge. Drawing upon the vast experience of the foreign merchants in trade and transportation, she provides essential help to Li Shande. Her character is also skilled in maritime trade, and part of her business involves dealing in spices.
An Tian as Yun Qing
An Tian stars as Yun Qing, the sophisticated and enigmatic mistress of Konglang Fang. A woman of many faces, her true intentions are often as captivating as they are mysterious.
Feng Jiayi as He Youguang
He Youguang is the maverick Governor of Lingnan. He is a man who insists on doing things his own way.
Zhou Meijun as A'Tong
In the television series The Litchi Road, A Tong is portrayed by actor Zhou Meijun. She is the owner of a litchi orchard, characterized by her sincere and unpretentious nature.
