Zhang Jia Yi as Liu Xiang Shang
Portrayed by Zhang Jiayi, Liu Xiangshang is a well-known screenwriter whose profession affords him a relatively flexible daily schedule. He is the husband of Dai Jing and the father of two children, an older son named Guo Ning and a younger daughter, Guo Bao.
Liu is a staunch supporter of the "double reduction" policy issued by the Ministry of Education. However, when it comes to his own family, he struggles to treat his two children with an even hand. He often finds himself doting on his younger daughter, Guo Bao, sometimes to the point of inadvertently neglecting his older son, Guo Ning.

Chen Hao as Dai Jing
Portrayed by actress Chen Hao, Dai Jing is a central figure in the series Growing Together Season 2.
Dai Jing is a capable and driven leader in the marketing department of Sheng Bao Electronics. At home, she is the wife of Liu Xiang Shang and the mother of their two children, Guo Ning and Guo Bao.
A primary source of conflict in her life is the education of her son, Liu Guo Ning, whose exam scores are consistently at the bottom of his class. Due to her son's academic struggles, Dai Jing holds a strong opposing view to the "double reduction" policy—a real-world Chinese initiative aimed at easing the burden of homework and after-school tutoring. This stance puts her directly at odds with her husband, Liu Xiang Shang, as their approaches to their son's education are completely different.

Wang Yu Xuan as Liu Guo Ning
Liu Guoning is the eldest son of Liu Xiangshang and Dai Jing, and a fifth-grade student at Yanfu Primary School.
While he struggles with his schoolwork and loves to indulge in video games, Liu Guoning is defined by his high emotional intelligence and strong character. He is independent, opinionated, and unafraid to express himself, even around strangers.
His true nature shines through his actions; he is a brave and just young boy. On his way to school, he once found a handbag full of cash and returned it to the owner. He is also fiercely protective, always ready to stand up for his younger sister, Liu Guobao, and other children who are being bullied.

Wei Nuo Jin as Liu Guo Bao
Liu Guobao is the young daughter of Liu Xiangshang and Dai Jing, and the little sister of Liu Guoning. She is a first-grade student in class 3 at Yanfu Primary School.
Guobao has a cheerful and lively personality. She is an adorable girl who loves to play with her friends, Ma Ziheng, the son of her neighbor Tang Xiaowei, and Yang Chuyi, the daughter of Yang Mingbiao. While she can be a bit temperamental at times, she is also known for her sense of responsibility during group activities and her willingness to help classmates in need.

Wang Xiaochen as Tang Xiao Wei
Tang Xiaowei is a trendy and open-minded single mother born in the 90s. She makes her living as a live-streaming host, selling products on social media. Divorced from her ex-husband, Ma Yingjie, she is raising their son, Ma Ziheng (nicknamed Tang Dou), on her own. When it comes to educating her highly intelligent son, her approach is relaxed and hands-off, choosing not to yell or create conflict.

Liu Rui Lin as Ma Ying Jie
Ma Yingjie is the ex-husband of Tang Xiaowei and a conspicuous presence in the parents' chat group. Initially, he comes across as simple-minded, nonchalant, and rebellious.
Despite these traits, he remains deeply affectionate toward his ex-wife. He is a man who values personal bonds and loyalty, always responding to her needs and providing their son with dedicated companionship. His primary flaw, however, is a persistent immaturity that frequently causes trouble for Tang Xiaowei.
Throughout the series, Ma Yingjie undergoes a significant transformation. He has a timely awakening and decides to start his own business, a move that allows Tang Xiaowei to see his true capabilities and potential. He evolves from a "mama's boy" into a thoroughly responsible and admirable man.

Sun Si Cheng as Ma Zi Heng
Ma Ziheng, the son of Tang Xiaowei and Ma Yingjie, is a warm-hearted, sensible, and mature young boy who is both intelligent and emotionally aware.
He serves as the class monitor for Grade 1, Class 3 at Yanfu Elementary School, where he is known for being a helpful and responsible student. At home, he is an understanding son who recognizes the challenges his mother faces raising him alone and is always ready to stand up for her.
Due to family circumstances, he eventually transfers to a new school in Tianjin.

Zhao Da as Yang Ming Biao
Portrayed by actor Zhao Da, Yang Mingbiao is a wealthy tycoon who lives in a lavish villa and drives a Mercedes-Benz. He is a good friend to Liu Xiangshang, the husband of Jing Tingting, and the father of two children, Yang Chuyi and Yang Shiwu.
Rarely at home, his time is typically consumed by drinking and business calls. With an impulsive and fiery temper, he is fiercely protective of his children and cannot stand to see them bullied. His first instinct is to use his wealth to resolve any problems they face.
His relationship with his son, Yang Shiwu, is strained due to a past divorce from his ex-wife, Shen Yue. His son resents him to the point of preferring his stepmother, Jing Tingting. However, as time passes, Yang Shiwu gradually begins to understand his father, suggesting a journey toward reconciliation.

Ling Zi as Jing Ting Ting
Jing Tingting, played by actress Ling Zi, is the current wife of Yang Mingbiao. She is a housewife and a new mother to their young daughter, Yang Chuyi, as well as the stepmother to Yang Shiwu.
On the surface, Jing Tingting appears to lead a comfortable and leisurely life at home. In reality, she is the one who manages the many demands of the household. Her husband, Yang Mingbiao, is primarily focused on his role as the financial provider.
Despite not being his biological mother, she has a closer and more supportive relationship with her fifteen-year-old stepson, Yang Shiwu, than his own father does.

Yin Chen Xi as Yang Chu Yi
Yang Chuyi is the youngest daughter of Yang Mingbiao and Jing Tingting. She has a love for drawing.
She is introverted, timid, and simple-minded. Due to her weak and indecisive nature, she often finds herself in difficult situations. From the first day of school, she is frequently bullied by classmates but is too afraid to tell her teachers or parents. When faced with torment from older children in her neighborhood, she doesn't know how to cry out or ask for help.

Ren Qi Guang as Yang Shi Wu
Yang Shiwu is the son of Yang Mingbiao and his ex-wife, Shen Yue. A second-year student at an international middle school, Shiwu has a rebellious personality. While he appears sunny and outgoing on the surface, he is actually a thoughtful young man who is weighed down by his own worries and cares deeply about how others see him.
His family and friends call him "Shi Wu" (the number fifteen), as it is a homophone for his given name.
Despite his outward attitude, Shiwu also has a gentle and optimistic side, and he absolutely adores his younger half-sister. The divorce of his parents has left a mark on him, and he often expresses his dissatisfaction with his father. However, after living with his mother, Shen Yue, for a period, he begins to understand the complex reasons why his parents' marriage ended.

Wei Ran as Dai Bing
Dai Bing is the 26-year-old younger brother of Dai Jing and the uncle of Guo Ning and Guo Bao. A confirmed bachelor with a "DINK" (Dual Income, No Kids) mindset, he shows little interest in settling down or pursuing a serious relationship.
His persistent refusal to date prompts his family to take matters into their own hands. Dai Bing finds himself pushed into a series of chaotic and awkward blind dates, from being set up with his sister's colleague to discovering his parents have secretly uploaded his personal information to a dating website. After enduring several farcical encounters, including one with a particularly aggressive suitor, his perspective suddenly changes when he meets Teacher Wang, his nephew Guo Bao's headteacher, during a home visit and falls for her at first sight.

Wang Zhiruo is the young and dedicated headteacher of Grade 1, Class 3. Taking on the role of a headteacher for the very first time, she lacks experience and often navigates her responsibilities by learning as she goes.
Through continuous interaction and adapting to new challenges, Ms. Wang gradually blossoms into a gentle, thoughtful, and mature teacher. Her life takes an unexpected turn during a home visit when she meets Dai Bing, the uncle of her student, Liu Guobao. The two share an instant connection and fall in love at first sight.
