This is a huge problem for Dai Jing. She just got promoted. She absolutely has to be back at work the next day. Liu Guoning, on the other hand, is thrilled he might miss the start of school. Dai Jing and Liu Xiangshang decide to take a car to a city with less rain. From there, they hope to catch a high-speed train back to Beijing. Their trip turns into a total mess. First Day of School Drama

Guoning's Big Mistake

Liu Guoning is actually excited to go to school. He made a bet with his friend, Bai Xiaotian. He dared Bai Xiaotian to wear a wig to school. Guoning sees someone from behind with long hair. He assumes it's his buddy. He runs up and kicks them. It was not Bai Xiaotian. It was a girl. He runs away completely embarrassed.

Things get worse. The girl he kicked is a new transfer student named Sun Jiayu. And she's his new deskmate. Guoning tries to protest. It does not work.

New Faces and Old Friends

Sun Jiayu’s little brother, Sun Jiaxin, also joins the school. He ends up in Liu Guobao's class. He's her new deskmate. Guobao is not happy about this. She misses her old friend, Tangdou, who moved to Tianjin. Now she's stuck with a new kid who stutters when he gets nervous.

Yang Shiwu’s class also gets a new student. She is an American exchange student named Mary. Before class, Shiwu is goofing around with friends. He accidentally spills a bucket of water all over her. He doesn't run. He offers to pay for any damages. Mary doesn't seem angry at all. She even asks for his contact info.

The class also gets a new math teacher, Ouyang Jun. He's also the new vice-homeroom teacher. But before class can even start, Tangdou (Ma Zijun) walks into the classroom. Liu Guoning is ecstatic. All the kids rush up to hug him. It turns out Tangdou's grandmother wasn't seriously ill. His family decided the education in Beijing was better. They came right back.
