Plot Synopsis
Zhen Di: The Writers' War
Another war drama is on the way. This one is called 'Zhen Di', and it trades rifles for fountainpens.
The story centers on a groupof China's topwriters, artists, andplaywrights. They gathered in the city of Guilin during the war, from 1938 to 1944.
Instead of fighting on the front lines, they fought with words and ideas. The show follows them using newspapers, theater, and literature to rally the country against invasion.
Theplot runs on two tracks. One is thepolitical effort to build a united front. The other is the cultural battle, showing how art can build a spiritual defense.
Many scenes recreate real historical moments. You will see the relaunch of the 'Salvation Daily' newspaper and the staging of influential wartimeplays.
The show is directed by Gao Xixi, a big name in Chinese TV. It stars Feng Shaofeng, Li Chen, Xu Lu, and Wang Likun. Veteran actor Wang Jinsong also makes a special appearance.
