Feud Episode 2 Recap: A Sudden Reversal of Fortune
The episode picks up with Li Qingyue in deep trouble. Following the discovery of a man's clothes in her room, the sect leader orders a search.
When Li Qingyue meets with Bai Jiusi, she pleads with him to clear her name. This lie, likely meant to protect her by distancing himself, backfires spectacularly. Haunted by the memory of what happened to Meng Chu, Li Qingyue feels she must sever all ties with him.
Summoned before the sect elders, Li Qingyue is pressured to name the man who was in her room. Trapped and terrified, she hesitantly reveals the name: Bai Jiusi.
With Li Qingyue unable to prove her story or produce Bai Jiusi, the elders decide on a harsh punishment: they will strip her of her cultivation powers and banish her from the sect.
The sect's attitude toward Li Qingyue transforms in an instant. When she awakens from a faint, she finds herself surrounded by fawning disciples, including a shamelessly sycophantic Jiang Bian, all eager to get into her good graces.Li Qingyue is utterly bewildered, and just as she turns to question Bai Jiusi, he vanishes.
Preparations for the wedding begin immediately. The elders, now curious about the background of the future wife of Heavenly Lord Dacheng, investigate her past but find only that she is an orphan from a common family. Zhang Suan is assigned to protect her, and his heart sinks when he learns that she not only lived with Bai Jiusi but also has feelings for him.
The only person who doesn't join the chorus of flattery is Li Qingyue's master, Qing Yang, who returns for the ceremony.
Taking her master's words to heart, Li Qingyue seeks out Bai Jiusi and asks him directly why he chose her. When he confesses that the feelings are mutual, she is overjoyed.
On the day of the wedding, the entire sect turns out to see Li Qingyue off as she departs for the Ninth Heaven with Bai Jiusi. As she leaves, she casts one last, lingering look back at Zhang Suan.
