Episode Summary
In this final episode, a series of dramatic events—including a stabbing and the return of an old friend—finally pushes Xiang Beichuan to realize his feelings for Ye Xining, leading to their reunion and marriage.

A Rocky Start for a New Venture
The episode kicks off with Xiang Beichuan. He quit his job and started a new cultural project with a friend. It's a passion project, but passion doesn't pay the bills. They desperately need an investor.
His friend suggests they ask Yan Jun for money. Beichuan is not thrilled about this idea. It's just too awkward. But he's out of options and his company needs the cash, so he swallows his pride and agrees to the dinner meeting.
An Awkward Dinner
At dinner, Yan Jun looks over their business plan. He's not impressed. He flat-out tells them the project won't make money and he has no interest in investing. Just as things look grim, Ye Xining walks in. She says she's willing to invest in her ex-boyfriend's project, profitable or not.
Beichuan immediately shuts it down. Taking money from his ex-girlfriend feels wrong. He worries about what would happen if the project failed and he lost her money.
Later, Beichuan's partner sets him up on a blind date. Her name is Teacher Ni, and she's also a university teacher. He meets her and thinks she's alright. They agree to go out for a meal. Of course, they end up at the same restaurant where Ye Xining and Yan Jun are eating. Beichuan gets flustered and quickly takes his date somewhere else.
Xining sees this and is completely heartbroken. She literally takes off her high heels and runs out of the restaurant to chase after him. It doesn't work. Beichuan is on his bike, laughing with Teacher Ni, and doesn't even look back.
Old Friends and New Problems
Just when things seem messy enough, Huang Yahui shows up. She’s back to turn herself in to the police. Before she goes, she visits Xining. Xining finally understands that her best friend was scammed by her boyfriend and is now facing a prison sentence of more than ten years. It's a tough scene to watch as the police take Yahui away.
When Beichuan hears that Yahui is back, he knows Xining must be devastated. He rushes to her side to comfort her. He also uses the moment to explain himself. He tells her the woman he was with, Teacher Ni, was just a blind date he had recently met.
A Birthday Party Turns Violent
The show then gives us some backstory on Yan Jun. He used to run a sketchy labor company. He took thousands from people, promising to get them jobs abroad, but never delivered. One of his victims, a man named A Yin, has been relentlessly trying to get a full refund. Yan Jun has the money but refuses to pay him back in full.
Now, it's Yan Jun's birthday party. Both Beichuan and Xining are there. At the entrance, Yan Jun pulls Xining aside. He asks if there's any chance for her and Beichuan. She admits it all depends on Beichuan.
Yan Jun then gives her some surprisingly solid advice. He tells her she's a tough businesswoman, but she can't bring that aggressive attitude into a relationship with a guy like Beichuan. He says Beichuan is a good, honest man who hasn't changed. Then, in the same breath, he tells her that if things don't work out, she should consider him. He's heading to Hungary for business and invites her to join him.
The party is cut short when A Yin shows up and stabs Yan Jun. It's not a fatal wound, but it's serious. Xining and Beichuan rush him to the hospital. The stabbing brings police attention, and their investigation uncovers Yan Jun's past crimes, including bribery. He's now looking at several years in prison.
The Final Push
After all the drama, Beichuan's blind date, Teacher Ni, decides to call it quits. She tells him he's too distracted and needs to sort out his past. He agrees.
Beichuan goes home, and his roommate, Sheng Yahui, has some news. He tells him that Ye Xining is leaving for Hungary. Before she left, she dropped off her twin-tub washing machine for Beichuan.
A Washing Machine and an Epiphany
The washing machine is the final trigger. It makes Beichuan think about everything Xining has done for him. He remembers how she always bought things for his apartment and helped him with money, never caring that he was poor. He realizes how rare a woman like her is.
He doesn't waste another second. He runs to find Xining, and they finally embrace.
The show ends with a beautiful scene. Xining is in her wedding dress, back in the old family house. Her grandmother is there for the wedding. Xining hugs her, and we see the stories of three generations of women from this family all coming together.It’s a quiet, perfect ending.
