Feud: Episode 6 Recap & Spoilers

The episode opens on a deceptive night. While appearing to be in diligent training, Li Qingyue is actually using a puppet technique as a decoy. Her true mission is far more sinister: she descends into a cold, icy pool, intent on slaying a white snake.

Bai Jiusi, who has been keeping an eye on Qingyue to gauge her feelings for the white snake, initially feels reassured by her apparent training. However, he soon discovers the ruse of the wooden puppet and rushes to the icy pool. He arrives just in time to see Qingyue about to strike the snake and intervenes to stop her. Already weakened from a previous injury, Qingyue cannot withstand the force of his hasty block. The blow, heavier than intended, strikes her down, and she falls into a deep coma.

Qingyue's condition is critical. Bai Jiusi summons Li Mo for aid, but they learn the situation is dire. Qingyue had previously consumed a pill to forcibly enhance her powers, and she is now suffering from a severe internal backlash. Compounded by the new injury from Bai Jiusi, she is beyond any normal medical cure.

Desperate for answers, Bai Jiusi has Li Mo temporarily revive her. Under questioning, Qingyue reveals the source of her hatred. As a child, she witnessed a white snake descend upon her village, bringing disaster and killing her entire family. Her sole purpose for joining the Jingyun Sect was to one day avenge them.

Unwilling to let her die, Bai Jiusi learns from Li Mo of a single, desperate hope: the legendary Scorching Sun Fruit, which is about to appear in the mortal realm. This fruit is said to have the power to turn a mortal into an immortal, which would save Qingyue from her fate. As this unfolds, a distraught Ningyan also pleads with Bai Jiusi to save Qingyue’s life.

Meanwhile, another disciple, Zhang Suan, is also in pursuit of the Scorching Sun Fruit with his sect brothers. They are held at bay by a divine beast guarding the prize. Just as they struggle, Bai Jiusi appears and effortlessly seizes the fruit. Zhang Suan, seeing his own chance for power and advancement slip away, desperately tries to stop him but is swatted aside with a single blow. As he watches Bai Jiusi leave with his hope in hand, a deep-seated hatred begins to fester within him.

Bai Jiusi uses the fruit to save Li Qingyue. Overwhelmed with gratitude, she awakens and pledges her life to him. However, in the moments that follow, Bai Jiusi suddenly coughs up blood, revealing he is suffering from a grave injury of his own. He quickly conceals this from the concerned Qingyue and sends her away.

After being unconscious for three days, Zhang Suan is revived by his master, Lv Suguan. He learns a crucial piece of information: the Scorching Sun Fruit is ineffective for immortals. With this knowledge, Zhang Suan deduces that Bai Jiusi must have fought for the fruit not for himself, but for Li Qingyue, realizing the true extent of the danger she was in. Thanks to the fruit, Qingyue's own cultivation now begins to advance at an astonishing pace.

Grateful and eager to repay her savior, Qingyue prepares food for Bai Jiusi, only to find he has entered a period of closed-door cultivation to heal. The narrative then reveals the shocking truth behind his ailment: the injury Bai Jiusi suffers from is an old one, a wound that reopens every ten years. It was first inflicted in a past life, when he was ambushed by Li Qingyue herself on their wedding day.

In the present, a bored Li Qingyue chats with Ningyan, who mentions Bai Jiusi's recurring decade-long seclusion to tend to old wounds. Their conversation is interrupted by Fan Ling'er, who arrives with an invitation to her father's wedding. Wary of attending due to a previously embarrassing wedding incident, Qingyue is hesitant. To persuade her, Fan Ling'er offers a tantalizing lure: some of Bai Jiusi's private belongings, but only if Qingyue comes to meet her alone. Without a second thought, Qingyue agrees, walking straight towards a potential trap.
