The Great Escape
Tang Fang to the Rescue
Xiao Qiu Shui is Liu Sui Feng’s prisoner. He wants to know what Liu did to his family. Liu Sui Feng is cryptic. He just tells Xiao Qiu Shui to think hard about what Old Madam Wu told him.
Then, Tang Fang shows up. She sneaks into Liu Sui Feng’s house and finds it rigged with a "Seven-Step Death" trap. This makes her suspect her own Tang Clan might have been involved in the kidnapping. She’s clever, though. She easily dodges the mechanisms and finds where they’re holding Xiao Qiu Shui.
He doesn’t want to drag her into his mess. He says his fate is just too messy. If he gets her killed, he could never face her sister Tang Rou in the afterlife. The guys with him, the Longjiang Four Sticks, are more practical. They tell her to just get them out before Liu Sui Feng comes back. Tang Fang gets to work and cracks all the traps.
The Truth About That "Death"
Song Ming Zhu finds out they escaped and tells Liu Sui Feng. He figures it had to be Tang Fang. Not many people can get through his traps.
Tang Fang gets everyone to a safe courtyard. She gives Xiao Qiu Shui a pill to counteract an ant poison he was given. He uses his internal energy and forces the poison out. Once he’s better, Tang Fang gives him back the golden swallow and dagger he left for her before his "death."
The items make Xiao Qiu Shui remember what Old Madam Wu asked of him. Years ago, the warrior Yan Kuang Tu saved a General Wu. But in doing so, his own brother was killed and his little sister disappeared. Finding that sister became his obsession. It drove him to cause chaos in the martial arts world. After every sect came after him, he vanished. He left the golden swallow with Old Madam Wu, who has been searching for the sister ever since. She asked Xiao Qiu Shui to take over the search.
Tang Fang asks the obvious question. How is he alive? Xiao Qiu Shui guesses that the palm strike from Qu Han Shan didn't kill him. It just sealed his breath to make him look dead. Now, he needs to get back to the Sword Hut to help.
A Villain's Backstory
Liu Sui Feng's Grudge
Xiao Xue Yu isn't doing so well. She was bitten by a snake and collapses from the poison. Nangong Xiao Yi stays behind to look after her while Xiao Yi Ren rushes back to the Sword Hut. On the way, someone tells him that Xiao Qiu Shui might be alive, and he gets his hopes up.
It doesn't take long for Liu Sui Feng to find where Xiao Qiu Shui is hiding. He finally explains himself to Tang Fang. It turns out, her father Tang Shun Yao abandoned Liu Sui Feng and his mother in Baicao Valley. When they tried to get help from the Tang Clan, the old madam treated them horribly. They decided to live a quiet life, but then Xiao Xi Lou broke in and killed his mother. Liu Sui Feng blames the entire Xiao family and wants revenge.
A Convenient Interruption
Xiao Qiu Shui insists it must be a misunderstanding. They’re about to fight, but then Liang Dou, a member of the personal guard, arrives.
Liang Dou is good friends with Xiao Xi Lou. Liu Sui Feng can't afford to offend him, so he backs off for now. Liang Dou gives them some fast horses to get away. Xiao Qiu Shui promises he’ll repay the favor one day.
The Big Showdown
Help Arrives for the Xiao Family
Li Chen Zhou is not happy with Liu Sui Feng. He wants to know where the Hero's Token is. Liu has failed too many times, and people are starting to talk. Li Chen Zhou tells him that Shaolin and Wudang are on their way to help the Xiao family. He orders Liu Sui Feng to stop them.
Song Ming Zhu and her people know that Shaolin and Wudang together are almost unbeatable. Liu Sui Feng says they have to be smart, and he already has a plan.
At the Xiao family's mountain, the Shaolin leader, Master Tian Zheng, has arrived. The Mount Heng leader, Mo Yan Xia, is also there to help. The Power-wielding Gang knows they are outmatched. They try to bribe the Shaolin master with a rare sutra to get him to leave, but he refuses.
The Power-wielding Gang's Dirty Tricks
With bribery off the table, Song Ming Zhu sets up an ambush. Just as the fight is about to start, Master Tai Chan from the Wudang sect shows up.
He pulls the Shaolin master aside to help heal him. This leaves Mo Yan Xia to lead the fight against the Power-wielding Gang. Song Ming Zhu sees her chance. She attacks and throws a "power-dissipating powder" on the two masters. It drains their internal energy, and black spots instantly appear on their hands.
She starts to gloat. But right then, Xiao Qiu Shui and Tang Fang burst into the courtyard.
