The Aftermath

So, Tang Rou is gone. It finally happened. Xiao Qiushui is taking it hard. He's blaming himself, wondering how she could die after he already saved her once. Everyone is pretty wrecked. They place Tang Rou in a coffin, but her sister, Tang Fang, isn't going back with the body just yet. She tells Old Madam Wu she has important business and asks her to send Tang Rou's body back to the Tang Clan for burial. Old Madam Wu agrees and gets it done.

A Suspicious Injury

Liu Suifeng is awake. He's out of his coma, but the doctor's report is grim. The sword missed his vitals, but he has an old injury that's tough to treat. Liu Suifeng explains he was wounded as a kid and saved by someone called the Great Seal Master. This master is apparently wandering the world now.

Old Madam Wu feels responsible since Liu Suifeng was hurt protecting her. She gives his people a Hero's Token and tells them to find this master immediately.Liu Suifeng tries to refuse it. He says the token is too important for just one person. But Old Madam Wu insists. She says the token has caused enough chaos, so it might as well be used to save a life.

Tang Fang asks to go with them. She argues a woman can help care for the patient. Old Madam Wu sees that Tang Fang is hiding something but lets her go, telling her not to lose herself. We then learn what Tang Fang is really up to. Her father, Tang Shunyao, is badly injured, and a cure is supposedly in the legendary "Book of Forgetful Love." She's been keeping this a secret.

The Mole in Plain Sight

Xiao Qiushui is consumed by guilt over Tang Rou. He spends his days by Liu Suifeng's bedside, trying to find some peace. Zuo Qiu wants to rush off and get revenge on the Power-wielding Gang. Deng Yuhan can't stop him, so he gets Xiao Qiushui. Xiao Qiushui talks him down. He says a reckless attack will just get them killed without making a dent in the gang. A real plan is needed.

He sends Zuo Qiu and Deng Yuhan to get reinforcements from two major sects. He also warns them to watch out for a guy named Kang Chuyu, whose internal energy is no joke.

As he thinks about it, Xiao Qiushui realizes something is off. He remembers Kang Chuyu's attack on Liu Suifeng. It should have been much worse. He shouldn't be this weak from that specific injury. The math isn't mathing.

His suspicion is confirmed on the road. Liu Suifeng, who is supposed to be on a quest to find a healer, suddenly makes his move. He snatches the Hero's Token and uses a special incense to knock out Tang Fang and their escort.Just then, Xiao Qiushui walks in. Liu Suifeng drops the weak-and-injured act. He doesn't bother hiding it anymore. He admits he's a spy for the Power-wielding Gang.

Liu Suifeng tries to leave with Tang Fang, but Xiao Qiushui isn't having it. They fight. Xiao Qiushui is still weak and gets overpowered. Another gang member, Song Mingzhu, shows up and tells Liu Suifeng they need to go. They escape. Song Mingzhu offers to kill Xiao Qiushui and Tang Fang for him, but Liu Suifeng gives a strict order. Do not harm Tang Fang.

Trouble in the Capital and the Gang

A separate plot is brewing. General Wu Zhe has been framed and thrown in prison. His old loyal troops meet with his mother, Old Madam Wu. They ask her to use her official status to plead with the emperor. For the sake of thousands of soldiers, she agrees to make the dangerous trip to the capital.

Back at the Power-wielding Gang's headquarters, Liu Suifeng is making moves. He summons all the leaders. He calls out the Sword King's man, Ju Xiushan, for interfering in the hunt for the Hero's Token without permission. To show he's not playing around, Liu Suifeng has Song Mingzhu kill a messenger right then and there.

Just as things are about to explode, the big boss himself, Li Chenzhou, comes out of seclusion with his wife, Zhao Shirong.Someone immediately tries to screw over Liu Suifeng. They present a letter, supposedly from Fu Tianyi, accusing Liu Suifeng of colluding with their enemies, the Eight Heavenly Kings. The letter also blames him for Fu Tianyi's death.

Li Chenzhou looks at the letter and isn't impressed. He says it's just a bunch of talk with no real proof. He tells Liu Suifeng and Ju Xiushan to drop their dispute. Then he turns to Liu Suifeng and asks him one simple question. Why did he attack the Xiao family?

In response, Liu Suifeng presents his prize. The Hero's Token.
