Episode Summary
Jin An and Su Muyang's rivalry over Li Shuang comes to a head with a disastrous drinking contest. Jin An gets drunk and confesses his feelings, leading to an awkward morning for him and Li Shuang. The tension breaks when Jin An's heightened senses allow him to discover that Su Muyang has been secretly poisoned, and the cure is unknown.

A Frosty Welcome
So, the Crown Prince, Su Muyang, decides to pay a visit to the General's Mansion.You'd think this would be a formal affair, but not with Jin An around. While Qiao'er and the others are scrambling to make sure the prince is safe, Jin An is just radiating hostility. He doesn't bow. He doesn't do the whole "your highness" thing. He straight up provokes Su Muyang.
From Jin An's point of view, it's simple. This is the guy who let Li Shuang get hurt. That's all that matters. Su Muyang seems more amused than anything. He sees Jin An's loyalty to Li Shuang. He even tries to reward Jin An for taking out Huo Du, offering him a bunch of nice things. Jin An wants none of it. He just gives all the gifts away to the women in the house.
A Fishing Trip Full of Threats
Su Muyang's next move is to invite Jin An fishing. Jin An isn't interested at first. But then Su Muyang mentions that Li Shuang used to love the fish he caught. That gets Jin An's attention, and he immediately tags along.
The whole fishing trip is just them trading insults disguised as conversation. It's all about Li Shuang. When they're done, Jin An makes a point of releasing all the fish they caught. He says Li Shuang is a kind person. It's a total power move.
A Drinking Contest Gone Wrong
Jin An notices a weird medicinal smell on Su Muyang. He goes to Lu Xin to ask about it. She explains it's just a wound medicine she made for Li Shuang. Jin An gets jealous and demands he get some of whatever the prince has.
Later, Su Muyang invites Jin An for drinks that night. This is the moment Jin An has been waiting for. He goes back to Lu Xin and asks for a pill that will keep him from getting drunk. He's planning to drink the prince under the table. Lu Xin thinks they're both being childish. She gives him a pill, but it's just a digestive aid to get him to leave her alone.
Drunk Confessions and a Flower
Of course, the drinking contest is a disaster for Jin An. He confidently downs his "magic" pill and then proceeds to match Su Muyang bowl for bowl. The only problem is, Su Muyang has an incredibly high tolerance. Jin An gets completely wasted. He ends up leaning on Su Muyang, drunkenly slurring that Li Shuang is hopelessly in love with him.
Li Shuang gets back late and hears what's happening. She rushes to Su Muyang's room. She finds Jin An passed out on the prince's bed, still talking nonsense. She quickly apologizes and drags him out of there. On the way back, a drunk Jin An picks a flower and puts it in her hair. Su Muyang watches the whole thing, and he does not look happy.
The Morning After
Jin An apparently cried on Li Shuang's shoulder all night. The next morning, he wakes up in the same bed as her and is completely shocked.
Su Muyang isn't giving up, though. He brings Li Shuang her favorite foods for breakfast. She's still keeping her distance. He then grabs two tree branches, wanting to have a friendly duel like they used to when they were kids. It's a clear attempt to bring back old memories.
A Shocking Discovery
The Poison and a New Clue
As Su Muyang and Li Shuang spar, Jin An watches from a distance. He realizes the strange smell from the prince is much stronger now. He runs over and rips open Su Muyang's shirt.
What he finds is bad. The wound on Su Muyang's chest is emitting a black gas. It's obvious he's been poisoned.
Lu Xin confirms it. The poison is extremely rare. She says if Jin An hadn't noticed it when he did, Su Muyang would already be dead. She's not even sure she can cure it. She has Su Muyang moved to her quarters so she can look after him. Li Shuang is terrified. If the Crown Prince dies under her watch, her entire family could be executed. It would be a disaster for her family and her army.
Seeing how scared she is, Jin An finally tells her his secret. He reveals that he has superhuman senses. Li Shuang immediately understands. She gives him some items they found on the assassin, hoping he can smell a clue.
