Episode Summary
Su Muli arrives in Lu City and immediately causes trouble, culminating in a disastrous dinner where he harasses Li Shuang. This triggers Jin An, who loses control of his powers, forcing Wen Moyin to intervene. The incident leaves Li Shuang injured and Moyin determined to take Jin An away for her safety. In a moment of humiliation, Su Muyang accidentally reveals to Jin An that his crippled hand is perfectly fine. The episode ends with Jin An and Li Shuang deciding to share a birthday, as neither knows their true origin.

A Terrible Family Reunion
Su Muli, the new big shot in Lu City, decides his first order of business is to meet Li Shuang. He tries to act smooth. He even mentions that he stopped some officials from impeaching her family. Li Shuang just stares at him, completely unimpressed.
Then, Su Muyang shows up. Su Muli immediately has all of Su Muyang's guards killed right in front of him. He calls them incompetent. He then spots Jin An with Li Shuang and makes a nasty comment about her having both a "wife and a concubine" at the border. Li Shuang and Su Muyang are furious, but Jin An fires back with a clever remark.
Su Muli then demands a dinner with Wen Moyin. Moyin wants nothing to do with it. Jin An has to convince him, promising they can think about returning to Wuling Mountain once this crisis is over.
Jin An Loses Control
The dinner is a disaster. Su Muli spends his time trying to figure out if Wen Moyin is the mysterious Xuan Yi Ke. Moyin just deflects with some sarcasm aimed at Jin An.
So, Su Muli turns his attention back to Li Shuang. He walks over to her, wine glass in hand, and starts getting handsy while pretending to offer a toast.This is the final straw for Jin An. He completely loses it. The Jade Exquisite power inside him surges, and the whole room starts to shake.
Wen Moyin acts fast. He "accidentally" spills tea all over Su Muli, telling him to go change.Then he grabs the raging Jin An and drags him out of there.
The Aftermath
A Dangerous Power
Once they're outside, Jin An goes totally berserk. Wen Moyin has to use every bit of his strength just to contain him. Moyin later explains how bad it was. Jin An was completely unaware of what he was doing. If Moyin hadn't stopped him, everyone at that dinner would be dead.
Moyin is done playing games. He tells Li Shuang he's taking Jin An away today. He argues that Jin An, in this state, is the biggest threat to her safety. Li Shuang also got hurt during the power surge, suffering some internal injuries. She just tells Jin An to hold on and be patient. She thinks Su Muli won't push them too far because he needs her Changfeng Army. It's not the right time for an open fight.
A Secret is Revealed
Later, Su Muli finds a new way to be awful. He's getting into his carriage and demands that Li Shuang kneel and act as his footstool. To protect her, Su Muyang gets on his knees instead.
Su Muyang is humiliated. He goes back to his room and starts smashing everything in sight. Jin An goes to hand him a vase to break. At that moment, he sees Su Muyang's supposedly crippled hand move perfectly. Su Muyang freezes for a second, then quickly goes back to pretending his hand is useless.
Su Muyang also reveals he has a secret mission. He's supposed to find the Xuan Yi Ke and bring him to the capital. Li Shuang immediately shuts that down. She says she trusts him.
A Birthday Promise
A New Beginning
It's Li Shuang's birthday, but she's in no mood to celebrate. She tells Su Muyang that she hasn't for a long time. She feels dizzy again, which Jin An knows is a side effect from his power surge. He feels incredibly guilty. Li Shuang tells him she's decided to fully support Su Muyang. The current emperor is useless, and Su Muli is a monster. Su Muyang would be a good king.
To make her feel better, Jin An takes her to a beautiful spot with a great view. He tells her the scenery is his birthday gift. Li Shuang then admits today isn't her real birthday. It's just the day that Li Wei found her and took her in.
Jin An doesn't know where he came from either. So they make a pact. They decide this day will be their shared birthday from now on. They promise to see the rest of the world together.
