Episode Summary

Jin An and Li Shuang confirm their blood pact has healing powers, strengthening their bond. Li Shuang's army wins a strategic victory, while her brother, Li Ting, starts to accept Jin An after learning he killed an enemy. In the capital, a search for the supposedly dead Anan King begins. The episode ends with Li Shuang and Jin An sharing a close moment after a trip into town, where they buy each other gifts.

This episode gave us some major movement on the Jin An and Li Shuang front. Their weird connection is getting less weird and a lot more real.

The Blood Pact is Real

So, Jin An's shoulder is still a mess. Li Shuang is cleaning the wound, and Jin An finally gets it. He understands she sent him away before to protect him. He tells her that from the moment she saved him, he was already tangled up in her world.

Li Shuang asks him what he meant about not being able to leave her. He explains it's not just about needing blood. He needs her blood. This is where things get interesting. He takes her hand and puts it directly on his wound. You see it happen right there. The wound starts healing almost instantly. So, that blood pact they have is the real deal.But Jin An makes it clear. He wants to protect her, and that feeling is genuine.

Family Drama and a Military Win

On the war front, things are tense. An informant tells Li Shuang that the Yao army is planning a surprise attack. She figures they must have the fake defense map she planted. Her gamble pays off. The Changfeng Army scores a victory, but Li Shuang is smart. She tells everyone not to let their guard down.

Back at the camp, her brother, Li Ting, is acting out again. He’s burning paper offerings for the dead soldiers and nearly sets a building on fire. Li Shuang sends Jin An to handle him. Jin An sees right through it. He knows Li Ting is just trying to get his sister's attention. He tells the kid that Li Shuang never forgets the soldiers who die for her. This seems to work. But Li Ting is still suspicious of Jin An and decides he needs to find out who this guy really is.

A King's Body and a New Mission

We also check in with the Anan King's followers. They sneak a look at a corpse that's supposed to be their king. It looks similar, but they can tell it's not him. Their next move is to find a certain Lord Zuo for help.

In the royal court, Lord Zuo brings up the Anan King's death. This gets Consort Qin's attention. She wants to find the king and get him on her side. She sends her guy, Jin Wujian, to go make it happen.

A Date Night of Sorts

Things get a little lighter later on. Li Shuang asks Jin An to eat with her. He's only eating plain rice, which she finds odd. He says he isn't used to the other dishes. He also says that facts about the food just pop into his head, though he doesn't know why. She decides he needs a proper meal and takes him out to a restaurant.

While they're out, Li Ting is pumping Lu Xin for information about Jin An. He learns that Jin An was the one who killed Huo Du. This seems to change his mind a little.

Li Shuang and Jin An's outing continues. After the restaurant, they go to a clothing shop. Li Shuang isn't fancy, but she feels like Jin An earned a reward. She buys him some new clothes, telling him it's coming out of his wages. He cleans up nicely. When he comes out in the new outfit, she's clearly stunned for a second.

She tells him that if he ever starts remembering his past, she'll be there to help him figure it out. It was a nice moment. He also got her a gift. It's an outfit with a note attached. The note basically says she deserves to treat herself well. It's a sweet gesture, and you can tell they both go to sleep that night feeling pretty good about everything.
