Spoiler Alert

The Factory Hits a Wall

Just when things were looking up, the floor falls out from under Ye Xining. She gets a call at the factory. A company they worked with just went bust. The boss took the money and ran. This means Xining's factory isn't getting paid for a huge order.

They are now in a full-blown crisis. They can't pay for their materials. They also have a massive stock of business suits they can't sell. The factory director, Director Lu, is out of options. He tells Ye Xining and Ling Jie to go back to the streets. They have to sell the clothes at a market stall.

Help From Unexpected (and Expected) Places

Beichuan's Good Deed Backfires

Xiang Beichuan is back at the university and doing well. The school leadership is impressed with his writing and encourages him. At night, he goes to the factory to help Ye Xining. He sees the mountain of unsold clothes. He decides to buy two whole boxes himself.

Of course, he can't wear all those clothes. So, he gives them away to his colleagues at the school. This act of kindness is about to cause him a lot of trouble.

Beichuan is a popular teacher. His rival, a man named Teacher Guo, overhears some students praising him. Guo is worried. The school has limited housing available for faculty. He sees Beichuan as a threat to his own chances of getting a place.

Later, Beichuan goes to the market stall to find Xining. She isn't there, but Ling Jie is. Ling Jie ropes him into helping sell some pants. Just then, one of Beichuan's students, Tong Tong, shows up. She has a huge crush on him. When she hears he's helping his girlfriend sell clothes, she immediately buys ten shirts and five pairs of pants. Beichuan tells her that's way too much. She insists she's buying them for her family.

This is the opening Teacher Guo was waiting for. He received one of the shirts Beichuan was giving away. He confronts Beichuan, accusing him of using a student to sell clothes on campus, which is a serious violation. Guo pretends he will cover for him. But Beichuan knows exactly what this is about. Guo is trying to sabotage him to get the apartment.

Yan Jun Makes His Move

Yan Jun hears about Ye Xining's factory crisis. He steps in and buys half of the entire unsold stock. This is a massive help. He tells Xining he has sales channels. He suggests she could sell the remaining clothes in Eastern Europe. This gives Xining a new plan. She starts working on getting a visa to travel and offload the inventory.

To get the visa, Xining goes to a customs official she met before, Shan Huajing. It turns out Yan Jun already called him. Shan Huajing agrees to help right away. He even praises Xining's business skills and refuses to take any payment from her.

But this isn't the whole story. A few days later, Yan Jun gives Shan Huajing a very large and expensive gift. Shan Huajing accepts it. He asks Yan Jun what his game is. He notes that Yan Jun usually moves fast with women. This time, he's putting in a lot of effort for a woman who is already his classmate's girlfriend. He warns that it could all blow up in his face. Yan Jun admits it's different this time. He has real feelings for Ye Xining.

Yan Jun's Other Business

We also get a glimpse into Yan Jun's other work. He helps people get jobs overseas. A man named A Yin comes to him, desperate. A Yin was sent back from a previous attempt to work abroad. He desperately wants to get to America to be with his girlfriend. To prove how serious he is, he smashes a bottle over his own head right in front of Yan Jun.
