Episode Summary
In this episode, Feng Suige defies his father for Fu Yixiao, and they finally spend the night together. So, the episode kicks off right where we left off. Fu Yixiao says the exact same thing Wei Qingyu once said. This completely breaks Feng Pingcheng. He loses his mind. He screams at Feng Suige to kill her on the spot.
Feng Suige is having none of it. He doesn't even flinch. He just kicks the royal edict aside. Then he grabs Fu Yixiao and walks out. Fu Yixiao feels bad for interrupting their talk. But Feng Suige actually thanks her. He's grateful she stood up for him.
The Doctor Bails
This whole scene is the last straw for Ling Feng. He can't believe this is how Wei Qingyu died. He is completely done with Feng Pingcheng. He packs up his medicine box and leaves. We learn he only saved Feng Pingcheng's life years ago because Wei Qingyu asked him to. Now, that debt is paid.

The Zhuang Family Truth Bomb
Zhuang Shen tries to get his daughter, Zhuang Jingyuan, to leave the palace. He wants her to take Feng Chengyang with her and hide. She refuses to go without an explanation.
Zhuang Shen finally cracks. He tells her the truth. Feng Pingcheng murdered her brother, Zhuang Jingheng. The king feared the Zhuang family's power. He framed Zhuang Jingheng for treason and had him killed. Her brother took all the blame. He did it to protect the rest of the family. Zhuang Jingyuan is absolutely shattered.
Since she won't leave, Zhuang Shen gives her new instructions. Stay in the palace. Don't ask questions. Just wait. His new plan is simple. He's going to kill Feng Suige. Then the Zhuang family will be the last ones standing.

Xia Jingshi wakes up from a dream. He sees a woman who looks just like Fu Yixiao from behind. He starts whispering sweet things to her. But when she turns around, it's not her. It's Princess Feng Xiyang. His face instantly changes.
The princess has been debasing herself for him. She's been dressing up as Fu Yixiao, trying to win him over. She threw away all her dignity. It's not working. She finally snaps and calls Fu Yixiao a bitch. Xia Jingshi doesn't hesitate. He slaps her, hard. That slap just killed any love she had for him. This is definitely going to cause problems later.

Murong Yao finds his father, Murong Zhong, and rescues him. Then, without any reason, he murders the village couple who were looking after his dad. Murong Zhong is horrified. He realizes Fu Yixiao was telling the truth. His son has become a monster who kills innocent people.
Murong Yao is convinced he's doing the right thing. He thinks the Murong family will be rewarded if the Zhuang family takes power. His father calls him a fool. Murong Zhong waits for his chance, then knocks his son unconscious. He orders his female assassins to take Murong Yao home and keep him under guard.

Murong Zhong decides he has to fix this. He's still the head of the family. He's going to the palace to see the king. He plans to confess everything and beg for forgiveness.
A Night Together and a Chaotic Morning
The Main Couple Finally Connects
Fu Yixiao can't sleep. She's worried sick about Feng Suige. She goes to check on him and finds him waiting outside her room. The tension is obvious. They both feel the same way. It was only a matter of time before they ended up in bed together.
Meanwhile, Feng Pingcheng is back in the palace. He's brooding and ignoring Zhuang Jingyuan's requests to see him. We get a little backstory here. His own father starved to death. That's why he's so ruthless and obsessed with power.
The Morning After
The next day, Fu Yixiao and Feng Suige are brushing each other's hair. It's a sweet moment. Of course, Lu Ke ruins it. He can't find Feng Suige in his own quarters, so he comes knocking on Fu Yixiao's door. He is completely stunned when Feng Suige is the one who opens it.
Elsewhere, things are not so sweet. Xia Jingyan, who is also a lunatic, grabs Feng Xiyang's hand. He shoves it down onto the thorny stem of a flower. He gets a weird, excited look in his eyes when she says Xia Jingshi is heartless.
The episode ends with a series of desperate acts. Zhuang Jingyuan has been kneeling outside the king's chambers all night. He still won't see her. And Murong Zhong is carrying thorny branches on his back. He's kneeling his way from the palace gates all the way to the king's hall.
