So, things are heating up in Green Hills! Jiang Menglian is feeling the pressure to head back to headquarters so the investment money can finally come through. Meanwhile, Dong Dalin's plantation is chugging along nicely. Almost all the farmers are on board, except for Chen Ling, who's holding onto her 300 mu of land. This also means Chen Ling is missing out on the sweet side hustles she had going, like brokering land transfers and hooking people up with jobs in the city.
Grandma Dong, back from her city trip, spills the tea to Grandpa Dong about why Chen Ling is such a big shareholder. Grandpa Dong has a lightbulb moment and realizes this whole situation is a recipe for disaster. Old Jiang is also getting antsy; he tells Chen Ling he's done renting land, but she's holding onto the cash until the project is finished. And Grandpa Dong? He's glued to Chen Ling's side, constantly asking for his money.
Chen Ling, feeling the financial squeeze, decides to lease out her 300 mu ASAP to cover the project's shortfall. Grandpa Dong is freaking out because Chen Ling is dragging her feet on repaying him. She refuses to lease the land to him, so he takes his case to Dong Erlin. Seeing his dad's distress, Dong Erlin promises to lease the land and pay his dad back immediately.
But Chen Ling's not about to let Dong Erlin mess with her plans. She sends Ma San to stir up trouble. Ma San and his crew show up to inspect the land, but Dong Erlin gives him a serious dressing-down and takes over negotiations with the potential leasers himself. Dong Erlin then tells Grandpa Dong that the money is on its way, which makes the old man ecstatic.
Meanwhile, Dong Xin wants to work at Feng Qiulan's BBQ place, but she's having none of it and keeps him at home. Sister Yun finds out Dong Xin is basically grounded and decides to throw a dinner party, insisting Zhang Na bring Dong Xin along. Feng Qiulan is a bit confused by this whole thing.
Over at Dong Dalin's place, Grandpa Dong is bugging his son about the money. Grandpa Dong explains that he needs to leave something for his grandsons. The next morning, Wang Binzi is all over Dong Dalin, worried that Lüfeng Company's funds are MIA and something's gone wrong.
Just as Dong Dalin is trying to calm Wang Binzi down, Zhao Assistant calls with good news: the chairman has signed off, and the money is on its way! Zhao Assistant also mentions that Jiang Menglian is feeling down and suggests Dong Dalin wish her a happy birthday and cheer her up.
So, Dong Dalin heads to the city to see Feng Qiulan. He tells her about Jiang Menglian's upcoming birthday and invites her to celebrate with them. Feng Qiulan trusts Dong Dalin and agrees to help him pick out a gift. Dong Dalin books a table at a restaurant, and Jiang Menglian is pleasantly surprised when he shows up.
Dong Dalin learns that the chairman wants Jiang Menglian and Guo Xiaochen to remarry. Dong Dalin shares his thoughts, saying Jiang Menglian is lonely and should consider it. But Jiang Menglian says Guo Xiaochen is a total playboy who was out drinking and chasing women within six months of their marriage, which led to their split.
The chairman used to be on Jiang Menglian's side because of his son's behavior, but now he's pushing for them to get back together. Jiang Menglian vents to Dong Dalin about her frustrations, saying that if the chairman keeps this up, she'll be forced to leave Lüfeng Company. Dong Dalin comforts her and encourages her to pursue her dreams, promising to work with her to expand the green farming business.
Bright and early, Old Zhang calls Dong Erlin to sign the contract, but Dong Erlin discovers that Chen Ling has swiped it. Ma San, meanwhile, has already signed the contract and leased out the land. Dong Erlin is furious and grabs an iron bar, heading straight to the construction site. Grandpa Dong finds out and frantically tells Dong Dalin to bring Dong Erlin back.
