Feng Lixue returns, angering Chong Guang. Zifeng, Zimu, and Murong Jing seek Mo Xiao at Mount Suyu. Mo Xiao rejects Wu Shuang's comfort and is confronted by Murong Jing. Wu Shuang helps Murong Jing and her friends. Murong Jing discovers Yuan Beichen's past and confronts Mo Xiao about Shushan's issues, eventually uncovering Murong Changfeng's potential betrayal. Mo Xiao is urged to lead the Demon Clan. Murong Jing informs Murong Ce about their father's actions, and Murong Ce investigates, discovering the truth about Lingxiang.

So, Feng Lixue is back, and Chong Guang is immediately on her case, figuring out she went to see Mo Xiao. He's not happy about her "demeaning" herself, but she just brushes him off. Drama, drama!
Meanwhile, Zifeng and Zimu have heard Mo Xiao is hanging out at Mount Suyu, and they're heading there to find him. They're worried about being mistaken for spies, but then Murong Jing shows up, also looking for Mo Xiao. She takes charge and gets the patrolling guards to announce their arrival as "old friends." Smooth move, Murong Jing.
Mo Xiao's brooding alone in the main hall when Wu Shuang tries to give him a coat, but he rejects her. Wu Shuang knows he's hurting and tells him to make a plan, that he doesn't need to be unhappy every day. Mo Xiao's all, "I came back of my own free will, it has nothing to do with you. Stay out of my business." Ouch! Xuyuan Yunchao sees this and gets angry at Mo Xiao's attitude towards Wu Shuang. He thinks Wu Shuang has lost Mo Xiao over the years and has given all her love to him, Xuyuan Yunchao, raising him as if he were Mo Xiao. He thinks Mo Xiao shouldn't resent Wu Shuang. Mo Xiao just walks out and bumps into Murong Jing, Zifeng, and Zimu. Murong Jing begs him to come back and rebuild Shushan, but Mo Xiao rudely sends them away.
Wu Shuang, being the bigger person, goes out to find Murong Jing and the gang. She introduces herself, explains who she is, and gets them settled in. She even brings them warm clothes and takes care of every little detail. To ease their minds, Wu Shuang tells them that even Chong Guang can't enter Yaoling Palace without permission, and they don't need to worry about Immortal or Demon labels, they can relax there. Mo Xiao is secretly watching all this.
Later, Mo Xiao confronts Murong Jing and tells them to leave the mountain tomorrow. Murong Jing refuses to return to Shushan, knowing that Mo Xiao didn't kill the Shushan disciples back then. She thinks the people who wanted to drive Mo Xiao out of Shushan are the ones who have really changed, and she doesn't want to go back to that Shushan. Murong Jing also sees that Mo Xiao has known for a long time who gave the Soul Crossing Curse to Lu Jianchuan, but he has never said it, because he is afraid of hurting Murong Jing and Murong Ce.
Murong Jing finds Ji Xingluo's magical artifact in Yuan Beichen's room and shows it to Mo Xiao. Wu Shuang happens to see it and explains that Yuan Beichen and Ji Xingluo were in love and originally planned to elope, but Yuan Beichen was called back to be the head of the sect. Yuan Beichen could not refuse the position of head of the sect, so he had to let Ji Xingluo down. This magical artifact was a love token from Ji Xingluo to Yuan Beichen. Murong Jing now realizes that Yuan Beichen was also wrongly accused of colluding with the Demon Sect.
But Mo Xiao still cruelly asks Murong Jing and others to leave together tomorrow. After coming out, Murong Jing sees Wu Shuang waiting for her, and thanks Wu Shuang.
