Episode Summary
Chen Nan suspects his professor Han Zhen is involved in suspicious activities related to ancient artifacts. Lin Guoqiang, recovering in the hospital, investigates Han Zhen based on Chen Nan's clues, while Wang Bingde is still at large, seeking new victims. Xiao Yu becomes a potential target.

So, Chen Nan is burning the midnight oil in the ancient tomb when he hears something spooky. Turns out, it's his professor, Han Zhen! The next day, Chen Nan tries to play it cool, asking Han Zhen about some technical stuff with bronze artifacts. But Han Zhen acts like he doesn't know a thing. Chen Nan's not buying it, especially since he remembers Han Zhen checking out similar books at the library. When Chen Nan brings it up, Han Zhen acts totally clueless, claiming he hasn't been to the library in two years. But get this – Chen Nan dug up records showing Han Zhen borrowed those books just six months ago. Suspicious, right?
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Lin Guoqiang is in bad shape. The doctor tells Xu Xiao and Zhang Yanni that Lin Guoqiang's collapse was brought on by extreme anger and stress. Zhang Yanni is super worried and lays into Xu Xiao a bit. Chen Nan decides to visit Lin Guoqiang and fills Xu Xiao in on the bronze cauldron situation and Han Zhen's fishy library visit. Just then, Lin Guoqiang wakes up! At first, Xu Xiao doesn't think much of it, but Chen Nan's clues seem to strike a chord, and he starts asking questions.
Lin Guoqiang, now conscious, learns that Cui Haitao spilled all the beans. He knows Xu Xiao is aware of his past. He gets Zhang Yanni and Ding Dang out of the room, and then he, Xu Xiao, and Chen Nan start piecing things together. Xu Xiao reveals that Wang Bingde needed five young women within a hundred days for some creepy ritual, but Ding Dang was saved, so the ritual failed. Wang Bingde has to find new targets. Lin Guoqiang, despite his condition, wants to jump back into the investigation, and guess who he's targeting? Han Zhen!
Lin Guoqiang, following Chen Nan's lead, tracks down Zhao Qian, an acquaintance of Han Zhen. Zhao Qian isn't thrilled to see Lin Guoqiang and Chen Nan. She sends Lin Guoqiang packing but takes Chen Nan back to her place. Zhang Yanni, back at the hospital with noodles, realizes Lin Guoqiang has left and is worried sick. She calls him, complaining, but ends up helping him check out of the hospital. Back at Zhao Qian's, Chen Nan confronts Han Zhen, who gets super defensive, offended that his student would compare him, a national expert, to grave robbers. Zhao Qian steps in and admits she and Han Zhen have a thing going on. Chen Nan, feeling awkward, makes a quick exit.
Back home, Ding Dang is taking care of Lin Guoqiang, checking his blood pressure and all. Her friend Xiao Yu calls, wanting to hang out, but Ding Dang's worried Lin Guoqiang won't approve. He doesn't object. Meanwhile, Chen Nan is at work when Han Zhen shows up and starts tearing everyone's research papers apart. Chen Nan knows his paper is doomed.
In another part of town, a bartender calls the cops, thinking he spotted Wang Bingde from a wanted poster. Da Fei and his team rush to the scene, but it's a false alarm. Ding Dang and Xiao Yu are out late, and Lin Guoqiang is getting anxious, texting Ding Dang. Xu Xiao, Da Fei, and Xiao Xing are still on the case when they get a call from the police chief: Chen Nan got into a fight over a cat! Wang Bingde is cruising the streets, looking for his next victim. Ding Dang and Xiao Yu say their goodbyes in front of Lin Guoqiang's building, and Xiao Yu lets her guard down. That's when Wang Bingde spots her... Dun dun duuuun!
