Episode Summary

Hu Manli and Qiu Lisu escalate their feud with public humiliation. Hu Manli struggles financially and decides to sell her car. Xue Xiaozhou tries to impress Dean Kang but fails, leading to a fight with Wu Ya. He then considers a partnership with Hu Manli for her client resources, despite their past conflicts.

Episode 6: A Wild Ride of Revenge, Regret, and Risky Partnerships

Okay, buckle up, because Episode 6 is a rollercoaster! It's all about pride, payback, and the potential for some seriously messy alliances.

First off, Hu Manli (our girl!) is not taking Qiu Lisu's BS lying down. Remember how Qiu Lisu bought all of Hu Manli's handbags just to humiliate her? Well, Hu Manli retaliates in spectacular fashion. She loads up a truck full of wedding gifts and parks it right outside Qiu Lisu's house. Then, armed with a megaphone, she announces to the whole neighborhood that Qiu Lisu is marrying for the third time! Talk about airing dirty laundry. To add insult to injury, Hu Manli loudly accuses Qiu Lisu of stealing her husband and even yells for Ding Zhiyuan (the groom) to come collect his gifts. Qiu Lisu, completely mortified, has no choice but to accept the truckload of "well wishes." Savage!

But the victory is short-lived. Hu Manli, feeling better after her revenge, now has to face reality: she's broke. She decides to sell her beloved car, but when the potential buyers try to throw away her lucky cat charm, she gets stubborn and refuses to sell. Eventually, she bites the bullet and sells it to the 4S shop, even though the price isn't what she hoped for.

Meanwhile, Wu Ya brings Xue Xiaozhou to the hospital's tennis tournament and introduces him to Dean Kang. Dean Kang invites Xue Xiaozhou to play, and it turns out our boy was a tennis star in college. At first, Xue Xiaozhou intentionally lets the Dean win, but Dean Kang sees through his act and tells him to play his best. Xue Xiaozhou unleashes his full power, and Dean Kang, exhausted, is defeated.

Wu Ya is not impressed. She chews Xue Xiaozhou out for not taking the game seriously. Xue Xiaozhou doesn't think he did anything wrong, and Wu Ya storms off. He chases after her, trying to make her happy. Wu Ya tells him to play another game with Dean Kang next week and lose on purpose. Xue Xiaozhou doesn't want to compromise himself to please others, so Wu Ya gets mad again. Xue Xiaozhou then calls the caregiver of Wu Ya's mother and finds out that Wu Ya paid 20,000 for the nursing fee. He feels ashamed and decides to take a risk. He finds Hu Manli's notebook and quickly identifies Ai Zhonghua and Ai Linjiang (father and son).

Hu Manli sends messages to her old clients, but no one responds. Ai Zhonghua's wife passed away, and he was hospitalized because of the grief. Hu Manli goes to Ai Zhonghua's son, Ai Linjiang, and brings him the wine that his father treasured. Xue Xiaozhou goes to find Ai Linjiang, but the receptionist doesn't let him in, so Xue Xiaozhou breaks into the office.

Xue Xiaozhou introduces himself as an agent of Taiying International Insurance Company. Hu Manli said that she never heard of Taiying International Insurance Company and accused Xue Xiaozhou of being a liar. Ai Linjiang tells the security guard to arrest Xue Xiaozhou. Tang Ling sends Yi Chang to pick up Xue Xiaozhou, and Yi Chang scolds Xue Xiaozhou. Hu Manli suddenly received a call from informant Uncle Ma, and learned that Yuan Lang, a former colleague of Lanyang Company, went to Wei Yuanxiang to sell insurance. Wei Yuanxiang avoided insurance companies. Hu Manli heard about this and came up with a good idea.

Hu Manli calls her former colleague Lao Xu overnight and learns that Xue Xiaozhou was used by Chen Fang. Afterwards, Xue Xiaozhou went to Jin Zhenhua to say good things for her. Xue Xiaozhou had a lot of ideas about insurance development and also passed the accounting certificate. After weighing the pros and cons, Hu Manli decided to cooperate with Xue Xiaozhou. She added Xue Xiaozhou's WeChat back and sent a message overnight to make an appointment to meet Xue Xiaozhou tomorrow. Xue Xiaozhou didn't want to see her, but Wu Ya persuaded Xue Xiaozhou not to resent Hu Manli and return the notebook to her.

Xue Xiaozhou came to meet Hu Manli as agreed and returned the notebook to her. Hu Manli felt that Xue Xiaozhou was of good character and proposed to cooperate with Xue Xiaozhou. Xue Xiaozhou refused. He had caused Hu Manli to lose her job, and Hu Manli had humiliated him. They had a past. Hu Manli didn't care. She was willing to take out all the customer resources and give Xue Xiaozhou the notebook she had compiled for 20 years. Xue Xiaozhou was immediately tempted.

Xue Xiaozhou visited Hu Manli's old customers one by one, but was turned away. Xue Xiaozhou did not give up and continued to visit door to door. Finally, Xue Xiaozhou came to Hu Manli's father, Hu Degong's house. Hu Degong received a call from Hu Manli in advance, and he tested Xue Xiaozhou.
