Awkward Confessions and Well-Meaning Friends

Things have been seriously frosty with Ye Lang lately. The guy's usually all smiles, especially around Xiao Min, who he affectionately calls "Sis" since they're from the same hometown. But lately? He's been avoiding her like nobody's business. Feng Qingming, being the observant big brother figure he is, noticed something was way off and decided to get to the bottom of it with Xiao Min.

Turns out, Ye Lang confessed his feelings for Xiao Min! Gasp! Xiao Min, however, immediately put up some walls. She laid it all out for Feng Qingming: in her eyes, Ye Lang is a fantastic guy, probably even better than she is, and she feels there's just too big of a gap between them. Plus, Ye Lang is super innocent and has never even had a girlfriend. Xiao Min, on the other hand, is divorced and has been through the emotional wringer. She's adamant she doesn't want Ye Lang to experience that kind of hurt. She genuinely believes he'll come around once he's had time to think it through and even asked Feng Qingming to help talk some sense into him. Oof, talk about a tough spot!

New Beginnings and Hospital Vigils

Meanwhile, Song Hao has picked up a new gig delivering takeout. While he's out hustling, Li Lefan has been a total rockstar, helping care for Song Hao's ailing father at the hospital .

Family Drama and Ultimatums

Over in Hu Yunfeng's world, things got intense. His parents dropped by Miao Miao's school, hoping to see how things were going between her and their son. Instead, they walked right into Hu Yunfeng holding hands with Hu Xiaoyun . To say they were upset would be an understatement – they were furious at what they saw as their son's rebellion and stormed off. This pushed Hu Xiaoyun to tell Hu Yunfeng they couldn't keep their relationship a secret anymore. Hu Yunfeng, ever the romantic (or perhaps just impulsive), immediately ran after his departing parents .

He declared he's absolutely going to marry Hu Xiaoyun. His dad, however, laid down a harsh ultimatum: as long as he's alive, Hu Yunfeng must marry someone "able-bodied" (their words, not mine, reflecting a very traditional and frankly, discriminatory viewpoint). This is getting complicated .

A Drunken Confession and a Second Chance

Remember Ma Jie and Fang Ye's marital troubles? Well, Ma Jie tied one on and got pretty drunk. Fang Ye, bless her heart, helped him home. Once he sobered up a bit, Ma Jie opened up to Fang Ye about the pressures of his job – all the schmoozing and business dinners. He admitted he knows drinking is bad for him, but as a man, he feels the weight of responsibility to provide a better life for his family .

His heartfelt words clearly moved Fang Ye. Ma Jie then confessed he doesn't want to go through with the divorce. Turns out, Fang Ye felt the exact same way! She pulled out the divorce papers and tore them up. The two then shared a happy, reconciliatory kiss. Aww, sometimes a little honesty (and maybe a little booze) is all it takes !

Bakery Blues and Brotherly Advice

Back to Hu Yunfeng – he actually moved into the bakery to make his point. His parents, feeling helpless, reached out to Qin Tianyue and Feng Qingming, finally spilling some secrets they'd been holding back. The four of them went to the bakery to try and talk things through, but Hu Yunfeng's father was still too worked up for any productive conversation, so his mother pulled him away .

Hu Xiaoyun then gave Hu Yunfeng her own ultimatum: stop fighting with his parents, or she's leaving. Later, Feng Qingming had a heart-to-heart with Hu Yunfeng, wisely telling him that constant defiance isn't the way to win his parents over. He needs to prove to them that he can be a good son and a good husband . Sage advice, Feng Qingming!

A Father's Farewell and a Complicated Inheritance

Things took a somber turn for Song Hao. His father's health was rapidly declining. The old man, perceptive even in his illness, had figured out that Li Lefan wasn't actually Song Hao's girlfriend. Seeing the positive changes in his son, however, brought him some peace. He made a request to Li Lefan: to be a witness when his will is read after his passing .

While out on a delivery, Song Hao got the dreaded call from the hospital about his father's worsening condition. He rushed over and managed to see his father one last time before he passed away. It was a truly heartbreaking moment .

The will revealed that Song Hao inherited all of his father's property. However, there was a catch: the substantial savings, amounting to millions, were placed in a trust fund. Song Hao can't access it all at once; he can only withdraw a certain amount each month. Initially, Song Hao was confused and hurt, wondering why his father would restrict him like that .

Li Lefan stepped in to explain his father's true intentions. She told Song Hao that his dad was trying to protect him from his less-than-trustworthy friends, ensuring that the money would be a safety net for his future. "Your father loved you," she emphasized. It finally clicked for Song Hao. Before leaving, he expressed his gratitude to Li Lefan and Cheng Xu. In a hopeful turn, he even signed up for a membership at Si Ting Ni, believing they can help him find a suitable girlfriend .
