Episode Summary
Lin Zhi Tao reported a KTV for illegal activities, causing its temporary closure. The vengeful owner withheld employee Bei Bei's ID. Bei Bei called Lin Zhi Tao for help. This led to the police cracking down hard, forcing the place into temporary closure. The angry owner, while dismissing his staff, singles out one employee named Bei Bei. He blames her for attracting the authorities' attention (because of an earlier run-in with a customer that involved Lin Zhi Tao) and refuses to give back her ID card. Talk about petty revenge.
Now, Bei Bei remembered getting Lin Zhi Tao's contact info during that previous encounter. Stuck without her ID and with the owner threatening her to cover the KTV's losses, a terrified Bei Bei makes a desperate call to Lin Zhi Tao for help. Lin Zhi Tao, bless her heart, immediately rushes over. In a twist of fate, Xiao Yang happens to be driving by and sees his sister heading into the KTV building. Uh oh, you just know this isn't good.
And sure enough, things take a dark turn. Xiao Yang later spots smoke and flames pouring out of the exact place he saw his sister go into. Panic sets in, and he races towards the fire.
Inside, the KTV is an inferno. Lin Zhi Tao couldn't find Bei Bei and now she's trapped, surrounded by fire with no way out. It looks hopeless... until Xiao Yang bursts in like a hero! He finds Lin Zhi Tao, throws her onto his back, kicks down a door to get them into a safer room, and uses a wet towel to block the smoke seeping under the door. Seriously intense stuff!
Eventually, firefighters arrive, put out the blaze, and find the unconscious siblings, rushing them to the hospital. Xiao Yang comes around relatively okay, but Lin Zhi Tao is in critical condition. She was unconscious for too long, suffering severe brain damage, and her fate is hanging by a thread in the ICU. While watching over her, Xiao Yang gets another gut-wrenching piece of news from the doctor: Lin Zhi Tao has an old brain injury (chronic edema) from a severe trauma in her childhood. It needs immediate surgery once she wakes up. Xiao Yang finally understands the depth of his sister's suffering – the injury was from their father's abuse, a brain bleed that their family completely ignored. Instead, their mother just nagged her constantly. It hits him hard that escaping that house was probably the only way she survived.

She remembers making instant noodles but leaving in a hurry before eating. Crucially, she confirms she did not send the text message that lured Lin Zhi Tao to the KTV. This means someone else was definitely there. Bei Bei explains that another girl showed up, somehow got Bei Bei's ID back for her, and urged her to leave immediately. Not questioning her luck, Bei Bei grabbed her ID and bolted.
And here's the kicker, the big reveal that leaves Bai En Yu (presumably another investigator or colleague) and the police stunned: the "helpful" girl was Ning Kai Tong. Remember her? Her mother was prosecuted and jailed by Lin Zhi Tao, shattering their family. Ning Kai Tong has held a massive grudge ever since, constantly harassing Lin Zhi Tao. The final straw? Ning Kai Tong's mother recently suffered a fatal heart attack. Fueled by grief and hatred, Ning Kai Tong plotted this vicious revenge.
Brought in for questioning, Ning Kai Tong initially denies everything. But faced with mounting evidence, she finally confesses. However, she shows zero remorse, blaming everyone else for her actions and acting like the world owes her. It's a chilling end, revealing just how deep her desire for vengeance ran.
