Spoiler Alert

The episode kicked off with Yang Guang proving he's no amateur. He spotted Zhao Yaning snooping around thanks to his surveillance setup. Zhao Yaning, trying to play it cool, sent him a "just checking in, hope you're okay!" text, which was totally a fishing expedition. Just as she was about to barge into his hotel room to see what was what, Yang Guang, quick on his feet, blasted a short video from his tablet at full volume. The noise made Zhao Yaning think a young couple was in the room, so she bailed and reported to James that the area was secure, no prying eyes. Close call, Yang Guang!

Meanwhile, James was breathing down Luca's neck for results. So, Luca decided to bring Xie Xiaoman into the fold, showing her the message and telling her they had a mission together. Elsewhere, Tian Ziwei was trying to listen in on Luca, but the TV in his place was so loud she couldn't make out what he was saying. Thinking everything was chill, she asked Li Jian to grab her some dinner.

But things were far from chill. Luca and Xie Xiaoman took off in their car, and when Tian Ziwei couldn't reach Li Jian, she decided to follow them herself. Her pursuit led her all the way to the Dahua Supermarket. When Li Jian finally got back from his food run and found Tian Ziwei gone, he called her, learned she was tailing Luca, and immediately warned her not to do anything rash and to wait for him.

Under Luca's cover, Xie Xiaoman managed to grab a box, and the two of them quickly sped off. This is where it gets terrifying, guys. Luca, that snake, had messed with Tian Ziwei's car. As she was trying to keep up, her brakes suddenly failed! In a desperate move to avoid hitting another car, she swerved and plunged right into the sea. My heart absolutely stopped!

Just when you thought it was over for Tian Ziwei, Li Jian arrived like a superhero, diving into the water without a second thought. He managed to pull her out, and she was rushed to the hospital. Li Jian, absolutely livid, called Tan Yaoduo of the Guoan Third Division and ordered them to arrest Luca immediately. But, surprise, surprise, Luca and Xie Xiaoman were nowhere to be found at their place. Their luggage was still there, untouched, which made Li Jian suspect they were planning to flee. He got Ma Jie on the case to track their whereabouts.

Xie Xiaoman was, understandably, still freaking out about Tian Ziwei's car crashing into the sea. Luca, trying to calm her down (or maybe he just doesn't care?), assured her Tian Ziwei would be okay. Then, it was full-on fugitive mode: they ditched their old car, got a new one, and swapped their old phones for new ones to avoid being tracked.

Back at the hospital, Tian Ziwei was declared out of danger, and Li Jian could finally breathe a sigh of relief. He then led a team to investigate the underground parking garage, convinced that the Dahua Supermarket must have been the pickup point.

That night, James was anxiously waiting by a fountain for news. Luca had Xie Xiaoman send a message for him, saying they were safely out of the city and would make the delivery the next day. Upon receiving the message, James immediately arranged for three different cars for Luca to use, making it easier to dodge the Guoan.

Li Jian, through surveillance footage, saw Xie Xiaoman picking up the package. Ma Jie also confirmed that Luca's car was on the highway. This spurred Li Jian to request permission from Zhang Baiqing to lead a team to Lianhai to support Yang Guang, and he was even given top-level equipment. Before heading out, in a really sweet moment, Li Jian bought a cup of Tian Ziwei's favorite milk tea and watched her lying unconscious in her hospital bed, clearly cut up about it.

Luca, meanwhile, was playing a serious game of cat and mouse, switching from a black car to a red one, and then from the red one to a white one. Li Jian and his team were always just one step behind because their investigations took time. By the time Luca was swapping to his fourth car, he noticed that the Lianhai Guoan Bureau was also setting up roadblocks. His slick move? He drove the car to a remote area, called for roadside assistance, and then he and Xie Xiaoman hitched a ride with the unsuspecting tow truck driver to get out. Smooth, Luca, real smooth.

Unfortunately, after Li Jian met with Liu Chu, they completely lost Luca's trail. James, on the other hand, was getting good news. Luca messaged him that he had successfully entered the city. James sent Luca the address to the safe house and contacted his boss – the plan was officially a go. He even tasked Taylor with being ready to enter the country to assist Luca.
