Dear Enemy: Episode 10

Spoiler Alert

The episode kicked off with Zhong Qingcheng having a bit of a tough time on set. Her acting skills are still a work in progress, and let's be real, someone was definitely trying to make her life harder. Cue the crew getting frustrated. But then, like a knight in shining armor (or, you know, a supportive friend and a helpful director), Luo Man and the Director showed up. With Luo Man's intervention, the Director personally coached Zhong Qingcheng, showing her the ropes. This was apparently enough to make even the notoriously jealous famous actress back off. Nice to see someone standing up for the newbie!

Later, during some downtime, Zhong Qingcheng and Luo Man had a heart-to-heart. We got some backstory on why Luo Man and the Director are so tight – turns out they go way back, having climbed the ranks together, weathering storms and taking hits side-by-side. That’s how true friendships are forged! Zhong Qingcheng, being the curious cat she is, also asked about the whole Luo Man and Zhou Musun situation. Luo Man spilled the tea, explaining everything. Interestingly, Zhong Qingcheng actually sided with Zhou Musun, suggesting he wasn't really in the wrong and that his issue with Chen Mian was strictly business, no personal vendetta involved. Luo Man admitted Zhong Qingcheng had a point, but she still couldn't quite get on board with Zhou Musun's perspective and values. Oh, the classic "he's not wrong, but he's not right for me" dilemma!

Meanwhile, Chen Kaixi found out about the deal Luo Man and Zhou Musun had struck and met up with Luo Man to say thanks. When they talked about their past arguments, Chen Kaixi also seemed to think Luo Man was the one at fault. Back at home, Chen Mian had a sweet moment, smiling as he watched Chen Kaixi playing happily with their child. However, things took a turn when Chen Kaixi discovered that Zhou Musun hadn't hired her for her amazing skills but was just using her. Ouch. Understandably, she decided to quit. Atta girl!

Luo Man, on the other hand, was doing some deep dives into Zhou Musun's ex-girlfriend's profile. It sounds like this ex was pretty much perfect, and if she couldn't make it work with Zhou Musun, Luo Man started having serious doubts about whether she should even keep trying with him. Relatable, honestly.

Then we had a scene with Zhou Musun dining with some big shot bosses, and who should be there but Chen Mian. Seizing the opportunity, Chen Mian started trash-talking Luo Man right in front of Zhou Musun. But Zhou Musun, cool as a cucumber, didn't seem fazed. Instead, he just said he found Luo Man "interesting." Smooth, Zhou Musun, very smooth. Later, Chen Mian took Chen Kaixi to a fancy banquet. When some of the wealthy wives heard Chen Kaixi used to play the cello, they were eager for a performance. Chen Kaixi was understandably nervous – it had been years since she last played. But Chen Mian, perhaps surprisingly, also wanted her to go on stage.

And this is where things got really good. Zhou Musun proactively asked Luo Man to meet, and because she’s clearly still carrying a torch for him, she didn't say no. As for Chen Kaixi, she took to the stage, and her cello performance was absolutely breathtaking, stunning everyone in the room. The rich wives were full of praise for her talent. For Chen Kaixi, it was like stepping back into her student days, doing something she truly loved. Chen Mian watched her, completely captivated, as if the rest of the world just faded away. The performance ended with thunderous applause – a well-deserved moment of triumph for Chen Kaixi!

Following this, Luo Man went back to Zhou Musun's place with him. Talk about awkward! She remembered vowing never to set foot in his room again after their last blowout, so this moment felt like a total face-plant for her. But Zhou Musun, showing a surprisingly sweet side, hugged her and even let her step on his feet so she wouldn't have to "touch the floor" of his room (probably a playful nod to her earlier dramatic exit). It’s these little moments, right?

After being so moved by Chen Kaixi's performance, Chen Mian actually stayed the night at home. It seems like they shared a tender moment, something that had been missing for a long time. Good for them! Over at Zhou Musun's, Luo Man had a nightmare and, in her sleep, instinctively hugged him. The next morning, while Chen Mian was still asleep, Chen Kaixi took out her cello again, lost in memories of her past stage glory.

The episode wrapped up with Zhou Musun making breakfast for Luo Man (brownie points!). They both apologized for their previous fight, which was a relief. However, when Zhou Musun launched into a long-winded speech about the "next level" of their relationship, Luo Man felt pretty uncomfortable and out of her depth, not quite knowing how to push back. Uh oh, sounds like clear communication might still be an issue for these two!
