Spoiler Alert

Luo Man and Zhou Musun: Is This The End?

Things kick off with Luo Man and Zhou Musun hitting a major snag, all thanks to a disagreement over a gift. It seems Zhou Musun thought a red envelope (you know, a cash gift) would smooth things over after Luo Man expressed that she values their time together more than material things. Uh, wrong move, buddy. Luo Man takes this as a sign that he’s just not getting it, and she heads home, feeling a deep sense of foreboding that this rift might be the one that truly breaks them apart for good. Fast forward half a month, and it's radio silence from Zhou Musun. Luo Man’s still plugging away at her screenwriting career, but she’s been completely cut off – even blocked on his social media. Ouch.

Bestie Breakdown: Luo Man vs. Chen Kaixi

Meanwhile, Chen Kaixi is on a career high! Her video has blown up, and she’s even scored an invitation from a TV station. She’s buzzing and eager to share the news with Luo Man when a call comes in from Li Weian. Luo Man quickly figures out that Chen Kaixi is helping Li Weian with her divorce case, specifically the custody battle. This is where things go south, fast. Luo Man is vehemently against Chen Kaixi getting involved, convinced it's a losing battle that will only cause more heartache for everyone. The two best friends have a massive blowout, and in the heat of the moment, they both say some deeply hurtful things.

Reeling from the fight, Luo Man storms out of Chen Kaixi’s place. As if things weren't bad enough, she twists her ankle while walking, and the dam just breaks – she completely melts down in tears. Just then, her real estate agent calls: the owner of the house Luo Man wants to buy needs to show it a day early because they're leaving the country. Sitting alone in the prospective house, Luo Man is overwhelmed by loneliness, and a flood of memories, including sweet moments from her student days with Chen Kaixi, comes rushing back. Back at her place, Chen Kaixi is also alone, lost in thoughts of her wedding day and the heartfelt blessings she received from Luo Man.

Even Zhong Qingcheng, their mutual friend, picks up on the bad vibes between Luo Man and Chen Kaixi but decides to give them some space before diving in. She’s got her own minor drama, skillfully dodging the advances of a wealthy heir who tries to chat her up on set.

A Glimmer of Hope for Chen Kaixi and Chen Mian?

Over at Chen Kaixi's, her husband Chen Mian brings a group of friends home for dinner, and Chen Kaixi puts on a happy face, even cooking up a feast. During the meal, she learns something touching from Chen Mian's friend, Zhang Fan: when Chen Mian’s company was going public, he signed the equity change agreement without a moment's hesitation. This revelation deeply moves Chen Kaixi. After years of hard work, Chen Mian has finally achieved his dream, and Chen Kaixi is genuinely happy for him. The couple shares an intimate moment, and Chen Mian promises her that from now on, he'll be good to her and Ye Hao (presumably their child/family context) and won't do anything to hurt her again.

Luo Man's Big Moves and Family Drama

Luo Man’s parents arrive in town to help her with the house hunting. Remembering Zhou Musun’s earlier advice to go with her gut feeling, Luo Man decides to buy the first house she fell in love with, even though it means taking on significant financial pressure. Later, during dinner with her parents, her father brings up the inevitable topic of marriage, even comparing her to Chen Kaixi, which leads to a heated argument between Luo Man and her dad.

Frustrated, Luo Man leaves and heads straight to Zhong Qingcheng’s place. As luck would have it, Zhong Qingcheng is about to leave for a two-month film shoot and generously offers Luo Man her apartment. During their chat, Zhong Qingcheng opens up about her own difficult childhood, admitting she actually envies Luo Man because, despite the arguments, Luo Man still has a family and a home she can return to.

Scandal, Social Media, and a Surprising Alliance

The next morning, Luo Man wakes up to find Zhong Qingcheng plastered all over the internet headlines for all the wrong reasons – a classic celebrity scandal. Chen Kaixi sees it too.

This is where Luo Man steps up, big time. She becomes Zhong Qingcheng’s unofficial crisis manager, coaching her on how to fight back against the online rumors with facts and poise. Under Luo Man’s guidance, Zhong Qingcheng’s counterattack is so effective that the gossip quickly dies down. Even Chen Kaixi secretly pitches in, posting supportive comments online. Thanks to Luo Man's savvy intervention, the online narrative shifts back to positive, and ironically, the whole ordeal ends up getting Zhong Qingcheng noticed by several directors looking for talent.

So, while one friendship is on the rocks, another seems to be forging a new kind of supportive bond. And with Luo Man making bold moves in her personal life and Chen Kaixi navigating her own marital reconciliation, it looks like the drama is far from over!
