Dear Enemy: Episode 8

Spoiler Alert

Luo Man & Zhou Mu Sun: The Morning After... and the Morning After That?

Our girl Luo Man, after maybe one too many drinks, finds herself back at Zhou Mu Sun's place. As they're getting out of the car, Zhou Mu Sun, smooth as ever, asks if she has any regrets. Luo Man, bless her tipsy confidence, is all like, "Nope, never regret a thing!"Inside, Zhou Mu Sun plays the gentleman, getting her water and suggesting she freshen up with a shower. This time, Luo Man's way more chill about it... until, plot twist! Aunt Flo decides to make a surprise visit. Awkward! She sheepishly asks Zhou Mu Sun if he has any sanitary pads, figuring a guy who seems to have a revolving door of female guests might be stocked up. Turns out, not so much. And because he lives in one of those fancy high-end complexes, there's no corner store nearby for a quick run. So, online shopping to the rescue it is!

Later, post-shower and dressed lightly, Luo Man crashes onto the bed, exhausted. She’s startled to find Zhou Mu Sun by the wardrobe. He then slowly makes his way to the bed, playfully teasing her and making it seem like he’s about to make a move. Luo Man, understandably, is a bundle of nerves, even trying to mentally power through her discomfort. But just when you think things are about to get really interesting, Zhou Mu Sun backs off and heads for his own shower. Phew, or darn? You decide!

After his shower, Zhou Mu Sun finds Luo Man seemingly asleep and gently gets into bed. But, surprise! She's awake. They end up having a heart-to-heart, and his answers to her questions are surprisingly considerate. It's clear there's a spark, a genuine interest brewing between them. Luo Man even opens up about her childhood. It’s getting cozy, folks!

The next day, Luo Man is basically working from Zhou Mu Sun's home office, and let me tell you, the lines between business and pleasure are getting delightfully blurry. Zhou Mu Sun is in full caring-boyfriend-tryout mode, even cooking for her! Luo Man, meanwhile, is comfortable enough to vent about her work frustrations, comparing someone named Hu Tu Tu to a "complaining little wife after marriage" (we've all been there, or known one!). After her awful experience with that jerk Wu Hao, Zhou Mu Sun is starting to look like a real stand-up guy. She's clearly enjoying this new dynamic, practically beaming when she’s out with Zhong Qing Cheng later.

Chen Kai Xi's New Venture & Zhou Mu Sun's Master Plan

Meanwhile, Chen Kai Xi is happily picking out bags. Just a few hours before, she was playing badminton with Zhou Mu Sun. During a break, she asked him for advice on what kind of business to start. Zhou Mu Sun mentioned his company was investing in the beauty industry and suggested it would be a great fit for her, even inviting her to his company. Sneaky guy also used this chat to find out where Chen Kai Xi and Luo Man were having dinner that night – which is exactly how he "coincidentally" showed up at the bar where Luo Man was drinking! See, it’s all connected!

Fast forward, and Chen Kai Xi has actually started working at Zhou Mu Sun's company. She’s super busy from day one. Zhou Mu Sun tries to invite her for a meal, but Chen Kai Xi, perhaps wisely, keeps a bit of professional distance and declines.

Zhong Qing Cheng: Navigating the Showbiz Jungle

Our other leading lady, Zhong Qing Cheng, is finally getting her foot in the door! She’s officially started working as an assistant to a very famous actress. This gig is already giving her an inside look at some of the less glamorous secrets of the entertainment world. During her duties, she catches the eye of a "Ken Zong" (Mr. Ken, basically a boss type), who even adds her on WeChat. Zhong Qing Cheng, ever the opportunist, tries to ask Ken Zong for a chance, but the starlet she works for happens to walk by at just that moment. Talk about timing!

Later, Ken Zong wastes no time and invites Zhong Qing Cheng out for a meal. He’s pretty direct about his intentions. Zhong Qing Cheng, not wanting to be a homewrecker, is taken aback. But then Ken Zong whips out his divorce papers to prove he’s single and ready to mingle, specifically with her. Zhong Qing Cheng is in a tough spot, not really wanting to say yes but also not feeling like she can flat-out refuse. Just then, in a stroke of luck, Luo Man and Zhou Mu Sun happen to pass by and inadvertently help her escape the awkward situation. Phew!

So, there you have it! Episode 8 was a whirlwind of budding romances, career chess moves, and a few close calls. Luo Man and Zhou Mu Sun are definitely heating up, Chen Kai Xi is making boss moves (with a little help from Zhou Mu Sun’s strategic planning), and Zhong Qing Cheng is learning that the entertainment biz is a wild ride.
