Our story kicks off with Fang Kun, a bright-eyed archaeology grad student at Qinchuan University. His mentor,Professor Zan Maochang, takes him to Bailuyuan for a look-see, but tragedy strikes, and theprofessor makes the ultimate sacrifice. Talk about a heavy legacy to carry! This devastating loss fuels Fang Kun, who eventually becomes a full-fledged archaeologist, determined to honor his mentor's quest.
Fast forward a bit, and the mysterious Yin Village tomb is starting to buzz in archaeological circles. Fang Kun gets invited to join the official survey team, and guess who's leading it? None other than his old flame, Luo Qing. Awkward? Maybe. Complicated? Definitely! As Fang Kunpushes his controversial theory about the tomb's importance, he doesn't just stir updebate among hispeers; he alsopaints a giant target on the site for a ruthless gang of artifact criminals led by the notorious Mu Jianhui.
This is where it gets really good. Fang Kun and Luo Qing, alongside the no-nonsensepolice captain Qi Dacang from theCultural Relics Investigation Unit, have to rally the local community. It's a thrilling cat-and-mouse game as they try to outsmart Mu Jianhui's crew, protect the Bailuyuan Yin Village Grand Tomb and its surroundings, and unearth the secrets buried for centuries. And boy, do they hit the jackpot! Their efforts ultimately lead to the incredible discovery of a massive "Ya-shaped" tomb – the long-lost Ziling Mausoleum of Emperor Taizong of Han, finally seeing the light of day after a thousand years underground.
