Episode Summary

The episode opens with Xu Zhi and Chen Luzhou watching a fireworks display. The romantic atmosphere quickly turns serious as Xu Zhi confronts Chen Luzhou about his exam results, questioning why he would have kept them a secret if she hadn't been present for a program recording that day and found out. Chen Luzhou simply states that the results are what they are. Meanwhile, their friends notice their absence from the main group, with Li Ke humorously speculating they must be off discussing quantum physics.
Later, Chen Luzhou still has the wine he’d been saving for Xu Zhi. When she reaches for it, she nearly stumbles, leading to a charged moment of closeness between them. Xu Zhi almost leans in for a kiss, but Chen Luzhou pulls back slightly, using the sudden excuse that "it's raining." They take a taxi back, and Chen Luzhou types out a message asking Xu Zhi if she made it home safely, but hesitates and ultimately doesn't send it.
The questions about their relationship continue as Zhu Yangqi presses Chen Luzhou about the depth of his feelings for Xu Zhi. He wonders why, with so many girls admiring Chen Luzhou, he is so singularly focused on Xu Zhi and what makes her different. Chen Luzhou confides in Zhu Yangqi, revealing that his feelings for Xu Zhi began at their very first group gathering. He explains that after being lonely for so long, he yearns for a unique and devoted love—an affection that is exclusively his.
In a more action-packed sequence, Chen Luzhou and Zhu Yangqi head out to play basketball but end up in a physical altercation with another group over a perceived provocation when Zhu Yangqi accidentally drops the ball. The scuffle leads them to the ophthalmology department for Zhu Yangqi’s eye. The attending doctor turns out to be Cai Yingying's father. He assures them that Zhu Yangqi’s eye itself is fine; it's just a superficial wound on the eyelid that requires attention from the surgery department. Chen Luzhou quips that if they delay any longer, the wound might heal on its own.
Family matters soon take center stage. Xu Zhi's father approaches Cai Yingying's father, mentioning the boy who seems to like Cai Yingying – Zhu Yangqi. He even shows a photo of Cai Yingying and Zhu Yangqi together from her social media feed as evidence. However, Cai Yingying's father dismisses it as children just casually taking pictures. When Xu Zhi returns home, her father presents her with a travel itinerary for a coastal trip. Xu Zhi, however, isn't keen on traveling and says she'd prefer it if he just bought her a computer.
Her father reminds her of the "ten things to do after graduation" list she supposedly wrote in her room, revealing that the trip was a joint plan he concocted with Cai Yingying's father. Xu Zhi calls Cai Yingying, who is ecstatic about the trip, particularly because her new swimsuit will finally get some use. With Cai Yingying’s enthusiasm, Xu Zhi agrees to go. Meanwhile, Cai Yingying's father confronts his daughter, asking why she blocked him on her social media if they supposedly tell each other everything. She cheekily replies that it depends on his "performance." He then questions if her sudden desire to retake her exams and apply to art school is because of a boy she knows. Cai Yingying firmly denies this, insisting it's her own ambition to get into a top-tier art academy.
The scene shifts to Xu Zhi and Cai Yingying enjoying their vacation by the sea. Xu Zhi is disappointed to find out that a re-screening of a film by a director she greatly admires is sold out. Cai Yingying then conveniently reveals she "won" two tickets in a lottery draw and had already redeemed them for her and Xu Zhi. When they arrive at the cinema, Xu Zhi is surprised to see Chen Luzhou. Cai Yingying quickly makes an excuse and disappears, leaving Xu Zhi to ask Chen Luzhou to join her.
It's soon revealed that Chen Luzhou orchestrated the entire "chance" movie encounter. Xu Zhi, unimpressed, calls his scheme "lame" and makes to leave. Chen Luzhou then provocatively asks her if she finds dating interesting. Xu Zhi bluntly replies "no," and tells him, "You can't handle this game, Chen Luzhou" (or, "You're not cut out for this"). He retorts, asking if she just wants to "play around" and warns her not to regret her choices. Xu Zhi confidently states she won't have any regrets and will happily see him off on his plane, implying a casual dismissal of whatever deeper feelings he might be developing or expecting.
