"Be Passionately in Love" Episode 13 Recap & Spoilers:

The episode opens with Gu Yan sending Chen Luzhou a message, announcing her departure and asking if he’ll come to see her off. Xu Zhi, who sees the message, calmly tells Chen Luzhou he should go. When Chen Luzhou questions if she isn't jealous, Xu Zhi reassures him that she's aware of everything and has no reason to be.

At their farewell, Gu Yan confesses to Chen Luzhou that if he had chosen anyone else, she wouldn't have been able to accept it. However, since his heart belongs to Xu Zhi, she has nothing more to say. She does, however, express a hope: if Chen Luzhou and Xu Zhi ever break up in the future and she happens to be single, perhaps he would consider giving her a chance. Chen Luzhou advises Gu Yan to focus on her acting career, acknowledging the hard work involved. He encourages her to do well and promises to support her if she attends a film festival in Europe.

Later, Chen Luzhou returns to find Xu Zhi searching for a misplaced hair tie. He tells her not to worry, offering to buy her a dozen more. Their friends, including a tipsy Zhu Yangqi, decide to go for a barbecue, and everyone joins in for a joyful meal. As dawn approaches and the group disperses, Chen Luzhou walks Xu Zhi home. They both understand this is a goodbye. Xu Zhi suggests they should each focus on becoming better versions of themselves. Chen Luzhou then remembers Xu Zhi wanted to see a sunrise, and as luck would have it, the sun is just beginning to appear. He asks if he can hug her, and Xu Zhi steps into his embrace.

Back home, Chen Luzhou finishes his packing. Meanwhile, Xu Zhi's father notices her distracted mood at dinner and suggests that if she misses Chen Luzhou, she should go to him. Xu Zhi declines, stating they've already said their farewells. Her father even offers to fly with her to Europe in the future if she wants to see Chen Luzhou. Xu Zhi dismisses this, mentioning her upcoming university studies in a different city and questioning the need to see him. Her father reassures her that she'll meet someone even better at university. He then asks her to buy some moxa sticks to send to her grandmother.

In a seemingly coincidental meeting, Chen Luzhou finds Xu Zhi at his doorstep. She claims she was just "passing by" after buying the moxa sticks. Chen Luzhou sees through this, pointing out the unlikelihood of her route. As Xu Zhi moves to approach, he distracts her by mentioning her untied shoelace. After tying it, Xu Zhi turns and walks away, and Chen Luzhou also departs.

Elsewhere, Zhu Yangqi is playing pool alone when Cai Yingying approaches. He explains that with Chen Luzhou going abroad indefinitely, he needs to get used to being by himself. Cai Yingying casually offers to play with him.

As Chen Luzhou and his family depart for their flight, it's revealed Xu Zhi secretly placed a card in his bag. The heartfelt message reads: "As long as it still rains in Qingyi, as long as puppies still have tails, someone will definitely love Chen Luzhou."

Later, Chen Luzhou's younger brother, Chen Xingqi, comes into his room, complaining that their parents are constantly arguing in the adjoining room. Chen Xingqi is also troubled because Sissi hasn't replied to his messages for days. He asks Chen Luzhou for advice. Chen Luzhou, after cheekily requesting and receiving an 800 yuan transfer from his brother, offers some cryptic wisdom: a "melon" (secrets or feelings in a relationship) should be enjoyed slice by slice. He implies Chen Xingqi revealed too much too soon ("gave the whole melon away at once"), thus diminishing the intrigue. When Chen Xingqi asks if Chen Luzhou gave his "whole melon" to Xu Zhi, Chen Luzhou remains silent.

The drama shifts to a rainy day where Cai Yingying hasn't returned home. Her worried father finds her with Zhu Yangqi. Upset, he confronts them, questioning if Cai Yingying repeated a year of school because of Zhu Yangqi. Zhu Yangqi tries to explain that it's a misunderstanding, admitting he likes Cai Yingying but is unsure if his feelings are truly "like," and that Cai Yingying is unaware of this. When her father presses Cai Yingying for confirmation, she walks away without a word.

Xu Zhi's father, upon hearing of this, remarks on Zhu Yangqi's apparent lack of articulateness compared to his demeanor at the hospital. Meanwhile, Zhu Yangqi messages Cai Yingying, telling her he's leaving that day. Xu Zhi encourages Cai Yingying to see him off, suggesting that if he has feelings for her, it doesn't mean they can't still be friends. Persuaded, Cai Yingying decides to go.

The episode ends with Chen Luzhou and his family out for a meal. Chen Xingqi expresses a desire for something, and his parents go off to buy it for him.
