Episode Summary
Episode 5 sees Chen Luzhou tricked into a pseudo-blind date with Huihui, a situation that causes a misunderstanding with Xu Zhi, who believes he lied about an interview. Meanwhile, Xu Zhi agrees to help with Chen Xingqi for a fee. The group later confronts Cai Yingying's cheating ex-boyfriend, Zhai Xiao, leading to a tense standoff. Chen Luzhou and Xu Zhi share an awkward moment in a private lounge, where he tries to explain the "blind date." Xu Zhi prepares to leave the mountain area due to family reasons. Feeling a growing distance, Xu Zhi questions her friendship with Chen Luzhou, especially after he declines a photography gig. The episode ends with Chen Luzhou getting injured during a basketball game by Tan Xu and coincidentally being treated by Xu Zhi's father at the hospital.

The episode kicks off with Chen Luzhou out for a meal with his mother, where they run into Professor Jiang's daughter, Huihui. Chen Luzhou's mother mentions that Huihui will also be attending university in Ruicheng, suggesting the two could look out for each other. Soon after, Chen Luzhou's mother informs him that his father has arrived at the airport. She asks Chen Luzhou to pick him up and, on the way, give Huihui a ride as she's heading to the movies. Chen Luzhou agrees.
Meanwhile, Xu Zhi receives a call from her father. He's curious about her meteor shower viewing plans and asks who Chen Luzhou is. This prompts Xu Zhi to realize she'd forgotten to manage her group chat settings, and she quickly explains Chen Luzhou is just a new friend. Her father also warns her about an upcoming typhoon, urging her to return home soon after her activities. Elsewhere, Zhu Yangqi calls Cai Yingying. Cai Yingying expresses her doubts about Xu Zhi's ability to help, as Chen Xingqi is refusing to go paint.
Zhu Yangqi, however, believes Xu Zhi is the key, observing that Chen Xingqi, who fears almost nothing, surprisingly listens to Xu Zhi. Hearing this, Xu Zhi agrees to help, but on the condition of being paid 800 yuan a day. Curious, Cai Yingying asks Zhu Yangqi about Chen Luzhou's whereabouts. Zhu Yangqi drops a bombshell: Chen Luzhou is on a blind date. Both Xu Zhi and Cai Yingying are stunned by this news.
At the "blind date," Chen Luzhou mentions his car is parked a short walk away. Huihui remarks on his good looks, guessing he must have many admirers. Chen Luzhou denies this, leading Huihui to conclude he must already have someone he likes. Chen Luzhou vaguely confirms, saying, "Sort of." Just then, Huihui's actual boyfriend arrives, and Chen Luzhou realizes the setup. Huihui leaves with her boyfriend for their movie.
Zhu Yangqi calls Chen Luzhou to fill him in on Xu Zhi's reaction to the "blind date" news. When Chen Luzhou asks what she said, Zhu Yangqi reveals that Xu Zhi accused him of being a liar, saying he claimed to be going for an interview when he was actually on a blind date. Zhu Yangqi jokingly warns Chen Luzhou that if he doesn't return soon, Xu Zhi might take over his money-making opportunity with Chen Xingqi. Chen Luzhou scoffs, "She wishes!"
Later, Xu Zhi, Cai Yingying, and Zhu Yangqi encounter Cai Yingying's ex-boyfriend, Zhai Xiao. He's not only with Chai Jingjing but also has another girl with him. Determined to expose Zhai Xiao as a cheater and prevent other girls from being deceived, Cai Yingying and her friends hatch a plan. Zhu Yangqi uses Chai Jingjing's alternate social media account to send a message to Zhai Xiao, revealing his duplicity to the new girl, who promptly breaks up with him.
Zhai Xiao confronts Cai Yingying, accusing her of stalking him. Cai Yingying retorts that he's narcissistic and that while she previously didn't know what she wanted, she now knows she definitely doesn't want "trash" like him. Enraged, Zhai Xiao is about to get physical when Zhu Yangqi intervenes, reminding him that the establishment is owned by Xu Zhi's uncle and warning him to reconsider. Zhai Xiao backs down but threatens them, saying, "Just wait."
As Chen Luzhou prepares to head back, he asks Zhu Yangqi if they need anything. Zhu Yangqi requests food, while Xu Zhi asks for water. Noticing it's raining, Chen Luzhou is reminded of a previous rainy moment he shared with Xu Zhi at that location. He returns with alcohol, but the venue doesn't permit outside drinks. Consequently, Chen Luzhou and Xu Zhi head to a nearby private lounge/karaoke spot. The only room available is one with a two-seater sofa, leading to a slightly awkward atmosphere as they sit together.
Chen Luzhou takes the opportunity to explain that his mother had tricked him into meeting Huihui, framing it as a chance for them to support each other in the future. Xu Zhi coolly replies that she never asked for an explanation. She then informs him that she'll be leaving the mountain area the next day. Her father is switching to night shifts and cannot leave her grandmother home alone. Later, back at her home, Xu Zhi's father gives her some money. He explains it's to provide her with a sense of security and encourages her to still pursue her studies and explore opportunities away from home.
Xu Zhi later gets a photography gig and asks Chen Luzhou if he's interested in joining. However, Chen Luzhou tells her he's already committed to an urgent job and can't make it. This leaves Xu Zhi feeling frustrated and questioning whether Chen Luzhou truly considers them friends. When Cai Yingying asks what's wrong, Xu Zhi confides that despite the time they've spent together, she feels like she and Chen Luzhou are from different worlds.
The episode concludes with Chen Luzhou going to play basketball, where he runs into Tan Xu. During their game, Tan Xu intentionally fouls Chen Luzhou, causing an injury. Chen Luzhou ends up at the hospital, and in a surprising turn of events, the doctor attending to him is none other than Xu Zhi's father.
