Zhang Xincheng as Liu Jun
Liu Jun, portrayed by Zhang Xincheng, is a determined private entrepreneur who returns to his hometown after studying abroad. Upon his return, he reconnects and mends his relationship with a childhood friend, Qian Hongming. The two go on to support each other, finding mutual success in their respective ventures.
His journey leads him to cross paths with Lin Yue, with technology being the initial foundation of their acquaintance. However, their shared interest in technology eventually becomes a source of major conflict between them.
As a businessman, Liu Jun faces a series of formidable challenges that test his resolve. He must contend with a market monopoly held by material suppliers, the devastation of a fire at his factory, and pressing environmental concerns. Through sheer perseverance and remarkable skill, he navigates these obstacles, undertaking the difficult but crucial transformation from a hands-on creator into a capable and visionary manager.
On the personal front, his life takes a new turn when he meets Cui Bingbing on a blind date, a relationship that blossoms and culminates in marriage.
Song Zu'er as Cui Bingbing
Cui Bingbing is a bright and refreshingly candid loan officer at a bank. She first meets Liu Jun on a blind date, an encounter arranged by his father, Liu Shitang. As the two get to know each other, their initial setup blossoms into a steady and genuine relationship, which eventually leads them to marriage.
Wang Yanlin as Qian Hongming
Qian Hongming is an old friend of the series' protagonist, Liu Jun. He is a businessman focused on import-export trade and real estate. After Liu Jun returns from his studies overseas, they reconnect and rebuild their friendship. The two provide mutual support for one another, and both go on to find success in their respective ventures.
Ren Chengwei as Liu Shitang
Liu Shitang is the father of Liu Jun, the series' protagonist. He is an entrepreneur from the older generation who runs an old-fashioned machinery factory. The story begins in the late 1990s as his son, Liu Jun, returns from studying in Germany with the ambition to transform this factory into a modern, technologically advanced enterprise.
Liu Shitang initially holds different business philosophies from his son, leading to disagreements about the factory's reforms. However, he ultimately chooses to support his son's vision and entrepreneurial efforts, even providing financial backing for research and development. He also plays a role in his son's personal life by arranging a meeting with Cui Bingbing, who eventually becomes Liu Jun's wife. In the early part of the series, Liu Shitang suffers a stroke due to business difficulties and is hospitalized.
