An Army's Humiliation
The episode opens with Mo Qingchuan's arrow finding its mark, an act of archery so precise it triggers a flashback for Mo Junyu. He recalls his bitter jealousy over how Qingchuan always bested him.
She corners a defeated Mo Junyu, her words as sharp as her blade: "You're a useless commander."Deciding that letting him live with the shame is a fate worse than death, Qingchuan sheathes her sword and allows him to flee.
Sisters Reunited
Meanwhile, a plan set in motion earlier comes to fruition. During a previous prison visit, Qingchuan had secretly instructed her sister, Mo Qinglian, on how to act.
The Burden of Betrayal
Qingchuan wastes no time, appearing inside Zhou Zheng's home to confront him.She demands to know why he hid the truth about the Mo Army's annihilation. He remains silent until she correctly guesses his motive: it was all to protect Cao Yuyan. He confesses that although he knows Mo Junyu is a terrible match for Yuyan, she is determined to be with him, and his only wish is to ensure her safety. Qingchuan spares his life but warns him not to tarnish his good name. Zhou Zheng retorts that Mo Junyu is a useful weapon for the Empress Dowager—a role he claims Qingchuan could never fill.
A Test of Loyalty in the Palace
Returning to the palace after a mission, Xia Qiguang faces the wrath of the Empress Dowager, who scolds him for the perceived weakness of his operation.
A Vow in the Moonlight
That night, Xia Qiguang finds Mo Qingchuan waiting for him in the courtyard. "With Qinglian's return, Qingchuan also returns," she says, finally dropping her disguise. He is not surprised, confessing that he has known her true identity for a long time. He declares that even if she were a traitor to the world, it would not be her fault in his eyes, and his devotion to her will never change. Visibly moved, Qingchuan turns away to hide her tears before smiling and beginning to teach him a new sword technique, the "Three Forms of Dawn."
A Corpse and a Chilling Smile
The episode ends at dawn. Zhou Zheng watches from a street corner as a body, wrapped in a simple straw mat, is carried out of Mo Junyu's mansion. Mo Junyu himself steps out, and his eyes meet Zhou Zheng's. A cold, sinister smile spreads across Junyu's face, leaving a chilling mystery hanging in the air.
