In a scheme orchestrated by Han Shijie, Jin-ye steals a new machine and kidnaps Shen Yanzhou and Xiu Ju for ransom to pressure Shen Yanqing. With a clever, indirect assist from Xiao Ye, Shen Zhile manages to free the hostages, and they successfully retrieve the machine. The event strengthens the bond between the Shen brothers, deepens the budding romance between Xiao Ye and Shen Zhile, and further complicates the love triangle between Shen Yanqing, Xiu Ju, and Shen Yanzhou, whose feelings for Xiu Ju become more apparent.

Girls Fighting Fate Ep. 16: Kidnapping, Betrayal, and Shifting Alliances
The latest episode of "Girls Fighting Fate" throws our characters into a whirlwind of danger and deceit, all starting with a new machine for the Orange Grove.
The trouble begins when Han Shijie, tipped off by Liu Ruyan, sends the notorious Jin-ye to seize the grove's newly acquired machine under the guise of collecting "protection fees." When Shen Yanzhou and a distraught Xiu Ju try to retrieve it, their plea for help from Xiao Ye backfires spectacularly. Instead of getting their property back, they are taken captive and held for ransom. Xiao Ye's attempt to intervene with his boss, Jin-ye, only earns him a harsh rebuke.
Upon hearing the news, Shen Yanqing immediately starts gathering the ransom money. He suspects a setup, realizing that someone must have leaked the machine's arrival schedule to Jin-ye, as they had no prior conflict. The situation escalates when an ultimatum arrives: pay up, or the hostages will be killed. Shen Yanqing prepares for the worst, ready to pay but also contacting the local Warlord as a backup plan. Meanwhile, it's revealed that Han Shijie and Jin-ye are in cahoots, plotting to bring Shen Yanqing to his knees.
While imprisoned, Shen Yanzhou comforts a guilt-ridden Xiu Ju, telling her that anything he does for her is worth it, deepening their complicated bond.
Rescue comes from an unlikely source. Shen Zhile, looking for Xiao Ye, is initially captured by his men. However, Xiao Ye quickly has her released and cleverly allows her to "overpower" him, knock him out, and steal the keys. After Shen Zhile frees the captives, Xiao Ye strategically turns a blind eye as they escape, successfully recovering the machine in the process.
The aftermath of the kidnapping brings both conflict and reconciliation. Shen Yanqing is visibly uncomfortable hearing that his brother and Xiu Ju were held together, but Shen Yanzhou lightens the mood by challenging him to a drinking contest. The two brothers end up drunkenly wrestling and laughing on the floor, their bond seemingly repaired.
Later, at a wedding anniversary celebration for him and Xiu Ju, Shen Yanqing publicly gives all the credit for the new machine to his "Third Madam." Shen Yanzhou steps in, pointedly telling the reporters her name is Xiu Ju and that she deserves to be known by it, not just by her title.
The episode also sees romantic developments for others. For his part in the escape, Xiao Ye is brutally punished by Jin-ye. Shen Zhile finds him and tends to his wounds, and in the heat of the moment, he leans in for a kiss. A flustered Shen Zhile pulls away, using the excuse of finding a doctor. In another quiet moment, Shen Yanzhou finds Xiu Ju asleep over her account books. He gently drapes his coat over her, finishes her work, and leaves her a bowl of porridge. She wakes up to the thoughtful gestures with a happy smile. The episode closes with Shen Yanzhou "coincidentally" meeting Xiu Ju in the snow, just so he can give her his umbrella.
