Rose and Gun Episode 16: A Secret Meeting and a Relationship Revealed
The plan to meet the mysterious informant is set in motion, but with a catch: they will only appear if Tang Xin is present. Han Yuhang agrees, bringing Tang Xin along. However, the informant is cautious, constantly changing the meeting point via text messages. This is all part of a larger strategy. Tang Xin and Wu Si have coordinated their efforts, with Tang Xin deliberately acting casual and stalling Han Yuhang, while Wu Si operates in the shadows.
The ruse works perfectly. Wu Si successfully meets the informant alone and is given a fragment of a cultural relic. The meeting takes a personal turn when the informant mentions Wu Si's father by name, revealing that Wu Si's family connection is the very reason they agreed to this dangerous rendezvous.
After a long wait with no sign of the informant, Tang Xin suggests to Han Yuhang that they should leave. He drops her off at her work's underground parking garage, where Wu Si is waiting. Without hesitation, Tang Xin introduces Wu Si as her boyfriend right in front of a surprised Han Yuhang. Once Han Yuhang is gone, she eagerly asks Wu Si for the details of his secret meeting. Later, as Wu Si walks Tang Xin home, her father calls. Having already been told by Tang Xin that she is dating Wu Si, he invites him up. Just as they share a warm hug outside her building, her father unexpectedly appears.
In a parallel storyline, Bai Zijian's mother, who had left in anger after being deceived by her children, is found by Bai Zijian. He takes full responsibility and explains the sensitive truth: his wife, Wang Chen, has difficulty conceiving because of physical damage sustained from her intense training and service to the country. This explanation mends the family rift. Later, a guilt-ridden Wang Chen returns home with groceries, ready to apologize. She is met with understanding from her mother-in-law, and the two reconcile, both eager to cook dinner together.
The investigation continues as Tang Xin uses a mailbox to communicate with the informant again, clarifying her professional-only relationship with Han Yuhang to ease their concerns. The next day, she takes the relic fragment to a lab to be analyzed, and the technician in charge is none other than Bai Zijian.
The weekend brings a happy occasion as Wu Si and Tang Xin officially announce their relationship to their friends Zong Qing and Lan Yangyang. Zong Qing, in a playful mood, starts a video call with his army comrades, putting the new couple on the spot. Egged on by Lan Yangyang's mock interview questions, they happily confirm their relationship for everyone to see.
The episode concludes with Han Yuhang messaging Tang Xin, asking to meet about the underwater relics. He claims he wants to help and presses her for more clues, but Tang Xin remains guarded, skillfully turning the questions back on him.
