The investigation into the "Corpse Puppet" murders takes a crucial turn as the owner of the black market mask shop confirms he sold three of the gruesome masks to a skilled martial artist.
Later, with the "Movie Queen" pageant set to be announced at the Rosefinch Hall, Gao Ying extends an invitation to Xia Yingqi.The gesture is met with suspicion from Xia Mo and Tang Zhenyun, who remain wary of the Gao family's motives. The night of the event is a spectacle, drawing large crowds. Bao Rui and her sisters from the Red Moon House attempt to join the pageant, but are stopped by Song Mama, who delivers a grim warning that nothing good will come of it.
Inside the bustling Rosefinch Hall, Gao Ying delivers an opening speech, followed by Secretary-General Song Shizai, who speaks on "female liberation" as director Zhao Ken films the scene.
At the police station, Miao San is interrogated by Tang Zhenyun. He readily admits to trafficking dancers from the Rosefinch Hall but vehemently denies killing Hong Xiu.
