Zhao Jinmai as Lin Qile
Lin Qile, played by Zhao Jinmai, is a young woman whose nickname is Ying Tao, or "Yingtao(Cherry)." She spent her childhood at a mountain construction site, raised under the loving care of her parents, who were power plant construction workers, and grew up surrounded by a close-knit group of friends.
Thanks to the security of her family background, she views life's gains and losses as nothing more than rich experiences. It is second nature for her to break into a smile before her tears have even dried. This resilience gives her a radiant energy that brightens the lives of those around her, including Jiang Qiaoxi. Her nickname, Ying Tao, perfectly captures her sweet, childlike purity, making her the most dazzling presence in this coming-of-age story.
Zhang Linghe as Jiang Qiaoxi
Jiang Qiaoxi, played by Zhang Linghe, is a gifted young man who moves from the provincial capital to the small town of Qunshan.
Raised by his parents as a substitute for an older brother who passed away prematurely, Jiang Qiaoxi has become introverted, mature for his age, and finds it difficult to express himself. Beneath this cold and distant exterior, however, lies a consistently soft and warm heart.
For Jiang Qiaoxi, Lin Qile is the one variable that pulls him from the structured world of mathematics, with its standard answers, and leads him on a journey to find and experience true happiness.
Dong Jie as Zhao Shengjuan
Portrayed by actress Dong Jie, Zhao Shengjuan is the mother of Lin Qile. Characterized by her gentle and considerate nature, she provides a warm and nurturing environment for her child, even amidst the hardships of life on a construction site. Zhao Shengjuan is the steadfast support system that empowers Lin Qile to bravely explore the world.
Bao Jianfeng as Lin Haifeng
Lin Haifeng is the father of Lin Qile and works as an electrician at a power construction company. Optimistic and humorous, he is a hardworking man who strives to provide a comfortable life for his family. Together with his wife, he raises their daughter, giving her the space to explore and grow freely.
Dong Xuan as Liang Hongfei
Portrayed by Dong Xuan, Liang Hongfei is the mother of Jiang Qiaoxi.
Liang Hongfei presents a tough exterior that masks a deep-seated vulnerability. Haunted by the premature death of her eldest son, she has developed a strict, almost paranoid approach to raising Jiang Qiaoxi, imposing exacting demands on his upbringing.
Zhang Duo as Jiang Zheng
Portrayed by Zhang Duo, Jiang Zheng is the father of Jiang Qiaoxi. He is a successful manager at the headquarters of an electric power construction company. When he is reassigned to a construction site in the mountainous region of Qunshan, he brings his son along and arranges for his temporary transfer to the local school. Despite his accomplishments at work, Jiang Zheng's personal life is in turmoil, marked by a chaotic family life and a troubled marriage.
Shen Jiayu as Qin Yeyun
Qin Yeyun is a childhood friend of the protagonist, Lin Qile, having grown up with her in the mountains. She is a key member of their close-knit group of friends.
Outwardly, Yeyun comes across as extroverted and even a bit domineering. However, beneath this strong exterior lies a sensitive and delicate heart. She has a playful and often bickering relationship with Lin Qile, which has defined their dynamic since they were young. Yeyun also harbors a secret crush on another member of their friend group, Yu Qiao.
Wu Sheng as Yu Qiao
As the son of a construction site foreman, Yu Qiao has inherited his father's pragmatic and level-headed nature. He is the tallest among his group of friends, the "Qunshan Squad."
Though he may appear quiet and detached on the surface, Yu Qiao is a deeply loyal and dependable friend. He is a constant, supportive presence in the life of his friend, Lin Qile.
Ma Qiyue as Du Shang
Named after a painter his mother admires, Du Shang is a source of warmth and humor for his group of friends, always there to bring laughter when they need it most. While he often projects a relaxed and casual demeanor, he privately struggles with vulnerability and insecurity stemming from his family issues and his own journey of growth. To protect his mother from domestic violence, he committed himself to practicing kung fu as a child, a path that ultimately led him to become a doctor as an adult.
Zuo Linjie as Cai Fangyuan
Known for his humor and easy-going nature, Cai Fangyuan is the cheerful spirit of the "Qunshan Squad." He is fiercely loyal to his friends and deeply values their bond.
As the son of the general manager of the Qunshan construction site, Cai Fangyuan comes from a well-off family. Growing up, he preferred snacks and comics to his studies, but despite his lack of interest in school, he is a whiz when it comes to computer and network technology.
Hu Jiaxin as Cen Xiaoman
Cen Xiaoman is a student in Class 18 at Jialin No. 1 Experimental High School. She was a childhood classmate of Jiang Qiaoxi from their elementary school days and holds a secret affection for him.
Liu Junjian as Fei Linge
Fei Linge is a student in Class 18 at Jialin No. 1 Experimental High School. He is a former primary school classmate of Jiang Qiaoxi. Known for his love of gossip and a penchant for spreading rumors, Fei Linge often acts as Jiang Qiaoxi's loyal follower and sidekick.
Chai Zongli as Feng Letian
Feng Letian is the monitor of Class 18 at Jialin No. 1 Experimental High School. He is characterized as a warm-hearted and friendly boy.
