Episode Summary
In this episode, a dinner party highlights Jiang Qiaoxi's growing affection for a confused Yingtao. After Jiang Qiaoxi secretly intervenes to stop a bully, Yingtao's attempt to play matchmaker for her friends backfires. The episode concludes with Yingtao fainting from heatstroke, leading to a nostalgic childhood memory of Jiang Qiaoxi, but she pushes him away upon waking to find him by her side.

The episode opens with Cen Xiaoman and her friends trying to figure out the dynamic between Yingtao and Jiang Qiaoxi. Fei Linge believes that Yingtao is simply getting back at Jiang Qiaoxi for an embarrassing moment in class, but Cen Xiaoman senses there's a more complicated relationship brewing, possibly involving Lin Qile.
To celebrate his son's first-place finish in a math Olympiad and Yingtao's successful move to the provincial capital for school, Jiang Qiaoxi's father hosts a dinner for their families. Yingtao's mother, Sheng Juan, assures her that she doesn't have to attend if she feels uncomfortable, framing it as a social obligation for the adults. However, feeling she has no reason not to go, Yingtao decides to join her parents. At the dinner, she is seated next to Jiang Qiaoxi, who spends the evening attentively caring for her—serving her food and even peeling crabs. His kindness only leaves her feeling bewildered.
Later, Fei Linge corners Yingtao in a stairwell, intentionally trying to provoke her with insincere comments. Just as his taunts become unbearable, Yu Qiao steps in and shoves Fei Linge to the ground. When Fei Linge attempts to retaliate, Yingtao kicks him down. The confrontation is witnessed by the class monitor, Feng, who warns them of the trouble they'll be in if Fei Linge reports them to a teacher. Yu Qiao remains unconcerned, confident in Yingtao's ability to talk her way out of any situation. To Yingtao's surprise, she is never called in by a teacher. She later learns that Jiang Qiaoxi heard about the incident, sought out Fei Linge, and warned him to stop targeting Yingtao, declaring his firm intention to be her friend.
Knowing that her friend Qin Yeyun has a crush on the oblivious Yu Qiao, Yingtao tries her hand at matchmaking. Her efforts fall flat as the dense Yu Qiao fails to pick up on any of the hints. Annoyed by his cluelessness, Qin Yeyun impulsively suggests a trip to the aquarium. Yu Qiao agrees but insists that Yingtao must come along as well. Not wanting to be a third wheel, Yingtao reluctantly agrees only after Yu Qiao uses the threat of Qin Yeyun's anger to persuade her. This, however, only upsets Qin Yeyun more, and she ends up bailing on the trip, claiming she has other plans.
Yingtao later smooths things over with Qin Yeyun by giving her a cute doll from the trip, which she accepts. During PE class, Yingtao pushes herself too hard in the 800-meter run and faints from heatstroke. Jiang Qiaoxi, who was in the middle of buying her a drink, hears the news and rushes to the school infirmary. While lying on the bed, Yingtao drifts into a memory from her childhood, recalling a time she was sick and Jiang Qiaoxi had cared for her when her parents were away. A wave of nostalgia washes over her. Just as she opens her eyes, she finds the real Jiang Qiaoxi standing by her bedside. Annoyed by his presence, she quickly tells him to leave before the doctor returns and things become awkward.
