"Double Fugue" Episode 10 Spoilers

The relationship between Su Baoyan and her model boyfriend, Tang Bei, is built on a lie. It's revealed that Tang Bei was intentionally placed in her life by her stepmother to act as a spy. Tang Bei has had an unclear relationship with the stepmother and has been working for her all along. However, after spending so much time with Su Baoyan, he has found himself genuinely falling for her, won over by her kindness and genuine affection.

Meanwhile, Su Baoyan's stepmother's original plan to secure a large fortune by tricking Qin Yuebai into a marriage with Wang Han has failed, as Qin Yuebai has no interest in him. Shifting her focus, the stepmother devises a new scheme targeting Su Baoyan. She gives Tang Bei a contract and instructs him to make its contents public, which would frame Su Baoyan and make her take the fall.

Faced with the document that could ruin Su Baoyan, Tang Bei hesitates. His internal conflict becomes apparent when he rejects a kiss from Qin Yuebai, pulling away and claiming he has things to do. On his way back, he reflects on his past. He remembers being a helpless child, bullied by other kids, until Su Baoyan's stepmother intervened. This act of kindness led to his devotion to her. But now, he realizes he may have been wrong all along, and that Su Baoyan is the true, precious light in his life.

In a separate storyline, Qin Yuebai meets with Lao Zhou, a wealthy and influential art collector. She impresses him by finding a very rare painting he desired, and he immediately signs a long-term contract with her. While Qin Yuebai feels relieved by her success, it's all a setup. After she leaves, Lao Zhou is seen secretly conspiring with Su Baoyan, revealing that the entire encounter was a trap laid by Su Baoyan herself.

Fortunately for Qin Yuebai, a friend of Lu Li happens to witness Su Baoyan and Lao Zhou whispering together. The friend initially misunderstands, thinking Qin Yuebai is cheating on someone with another collector. However, based on the friend's description, Lu Li senses that something is amiss and rushes to the company to warn Qin Yuebai.

Thanks to Lu Li's timely warning, Qin Yuebai learns of the scheme and avoids the trap. Deeply grateful to Lu Li for always being there for her at critical moments, she asks him not to leave the company, assuring him that she fully accepts him even if he can no longer paint.

Later that evening, Su Shilun furiously confronts Su Baoyan, throwing a contract in front of her and demanding to know if she was responsible for the signatures. Su Baoyan recognizes her own signature but is completely unaware of the document's damaging contents. With the deed done, Su Shilun now faces a massive financial penalty, something his money-obsessed nature cannot tolerate. Though he usually spoils Su Baoyan, viewing her as a useful, if naive, pawn, this disaster is too much. He orders her to be confined to her room as punishment.

As rain falls outside, Su Baoyan looks through her window and sees Tang Bei staring back with a look of guilt in his eyes. She had already suspected him when her father threw the papers at her, but she chose to take the blame to protect him from her father's wrath. Now, seeing his expression, she is thrown into turmoil, beginning to question whether Tang Bei ever truly had feelings for her.
