"Deep Affection Eyes" Episode 10: A Daring Rescue and a Heavy Metal Surprise
The episode opens with Li Jinyu's strict approach to Grandma Dou's physical therapy, causing some friction. Ye Meng steps in, using her cleverness to ease the mood and help Grandma Dou complete her exercises in a relaxed manner. Afterwards, Li Jinyu heads out to a supermarket alone. Ye Meng keeps him updated on Grandma Dou's condition via text messages and later joins him. However, when Li Jinyu sees sanitary pads on a shelf, he becomes flustered and walks away, leaving Ye Meng to mistakenly believe she holds no attraction for him.
Upset, Ye Meng confides in her friend Fang Ya'en, who suggests she buy some sexy lingerie. While shopping, she spots Qiao Maimai's agent, Brother Wang, buying lingerie for Maimai. Sensing something is wrong, Ye Meng immediately messages Li Jinyu, and the two decide to investigate.Meanwhile, Brother Wang has taken Qiao Maimai to a hotel room, pressuring her to wear the lingerie for a photoshoot. He uses a mix of coercion and manipulation, tricking her into believing it's a legitimate request from the agency. Just as she is about to give in, Li Jinyu remembers a business card Brother Wang had given him. He calls the number, follows the sound of the ringing phone to the correct room, and bursts in, grabbing the agent by the throat. Ye Meng quickly pulls a shaken Qiao Maimai out of the room.
In the aftermath, both Brother Wang and the photographer are taken away by the police. A devastated Qiao Maimai blames herself for what happened, but Ye Meng comforts her, sharing her own past struggles in her career to encourage Maimai to hold onto her dreams.Listening to their conversation, Li Jinyu is deeply moved. He takes the initiative to contact his friend Tai Mingxiao in Jiangbei, asking him to look into music schools there for Maimai.
Later that night, Ye Meng and Li Jinyu are about to take their relationship to a more intimate level when her period unexpectedly arrives. Ye Meng is frustrated by the terrible timing, but Li Jinyu comforts her, reassuring her that they have a long future ahead and there's no need to rush. His patience and understanding soothe her discomfort.
The next morning, Qiao Maimai is back at work at the bar, where Cheng Kairan and her other friends gather to support her. In a touching gesture, Grandma Dou appears and offers Maimai her entire life savings to pursue music. Li Jinyu also gives Maimai his own guitar, moving her to tears. To lift her spirits further, Cheng Kairan decides to organize a "concert" for her at the Jubaoshi Bar. Maimai is thrilled, but when the time comes for her performance, her heavy metal style sends customers running for the doors with their ears covered. Only her loyal friends and Ye Meng's aunt, a fellow metalhead, remain to cheer her on. Despite the disastrous turnout, Grandma Dou is careful not to discourage Maimai's passion.
After the show, Ye Meng and Li Jinyu walk home together, both feeling happy. The following morning, Ye Meng playfully gets Li Jinyu's attention by tossing flowers at him and asks him to take her picture. His photography skills prove to be comically bad, so she shows him some old photos as an example. This unintentionally sparks Li Jinyu's jealousy, as he assumes the photos were taken by Dr. Gao. Ye Meng finds his reaction amusing and clarifies that she had rejected Dr. Gao long ago. Realizing his mistake, Li Jinyu's jealousy fades. Just as they share a sweet kiss, they are interrupted by Fang Ya'en, Cheng Kairan, and Qiao Maimai, who arrive with food for a get-together that Ye Meng had planned.
