Episode Summary
Li Jinyu's confession about his past and his stepfather's death brings him and Ye Meng back together. Gou Kai's elaborate plan to confess his feelings for Ye Meng is foiled when Tai Mingxiao witnesses Ye Meng and Li Jinyu kissing in the specially prepared room. The episode culminates in a major revelation when Tai Mingxiao confronts the couple, only to discover they are secretly married.

The episode picks up with a major confession from Li Jinyu to Ye Meng. He finally explains why he changed his testimony in her mother's suicide case years ago; a heavy downpour that day made him uncertain if he had seen the license plate clearly. He also drops another bombshell: he is not the biological son of his stepfather, Li Mu. Instead, he is the child of Li Lingbai and another man, which is the real reason Li Lingbai has always treated him with disdain.
Li Jinyu recounts how his stepfather, Li Mu, had urged him to stop digging into the past. However, Li Jinyu's stubbornness led him to continue investigating, resulting in a tragic car accident. Li Mu died in the ensuing fire while saving him. Fearing that Li Lingbai would target Ye Meng if she got involved, Li Jinyu decided to pursue the truth alone. Hearing his story, Ye Meng is heartbroken for him and finally understands his recent coldness. The ice between them completely thaws, and they reconcile.
Meanwhile, Gou Kai is plotting an elaborate confession to Ye Meng. He has Tai Mingxiao decorate a room and even plants a doll with a hidden camera to capture the moment. Aware of the plan, Li Jinyu insists on attending the team-building event, using his status as the client as an excuse, much to Gou Kai's annoyance. Tai Mingxiao feels uneasy about Gou Kai's plan to break up what he believes is Ye Meng's family, but Gou Kai is dismissive, believing Ye Meng's partner, Cheng Kairan, is an unworthy gold-digger.
Later, during a party game, Tai Mingxiao tries to set the stage for Gou Kai, who openly expresses his affection for Ye Meng. But Li Jinyu hijacks the moment. When a question about office romance comes up, he immediately declares his interest, looking directly at Ye Meng, creating a tense and dramatic atmosphere.
Ye Meng later slips away and happens upon the decorated room. Li Jinyu follows her, mentioning Gou Kai's impending confession. Realizing he's jealous, Ye Meng assures him she knew nothing about it. Surrounded by balloons and flowers on the balcony, they share a passionate kiss. Tai Mingxiao witnesses this and, in a panic, tackles Gou Kai to the ground to prevent him from entering the room and seeing them. By the time Gou Kai gets inside, the room is empty. To stop him from seeing the footage, Tai Mingxiao breaks the computer, destroying the evidence.
That night, Tai Mingxiao confronts Cheng Kairan at a bar, warning him about his "wife's" behavior with both Li Jinyu and Gou Kai. To his astonishment, Cheng Kairan is completely unfazed, leading Tai Mingxiao to believe they have an shockingly open relationship.
The situation comes to a head when Tai Mingxiao, distressed by what he perceives as their "degenerate" behavior, finds Li Jinyu and Ye Meng kissing at home. Fed up, Li Jinyu puts an end to the misunderstanding by revealing that he and Ye Meng are a legally married couple and presents their marriage certificate. A stunned Tai Mingxiao finally understands the truth behind their secret relationship. After he calms down, they ask him to keep their marriage a secret. Terrified of the dangerous Li Lingbai, Tai Mingxiao reluctantly agrees, leaving with the heavy burden of their secret.
