Episode Summary
In this episode, Ye Meng and Li Jinyu's bond deepens during the town's Fish Lantern Festival. Their budding romance is tested by the interference of Jiang Luzhi, who attempts to drive them apart with insinuations about Ye Meng's motives. After a tense confrontation fueled by family drama, the two reconcile, culminating in Ye Meng's public declaration of support for Li Jinyu.

To apologize for using Li Jinyu as a shield without his permission, Ye Meng hires him for house repairs. Seizing the opportunity, she playfully suggests he kiss her to make things even. Their moment is interrupted by her grandmother and aunt, forcing Ye Meng to pretend Li Jinyu is simply a repairman. Once her family leaves, she continues to playfully pester him.
Later, Ye Meng and Li Jinyu go out to buy a security camera and share a meal, where they run into Qiao Maimai. Ye Meng invites Li Jinyu to accompany her to the town's final Fish Lantern Festival.Upon returning home, they find Cheng Jingjing looking for Li Jinyu, prompting Ye Meng to remind him once more about their festival plans.
Although Li Jinyu never verbally agrees, he shows up on time for the festival. Ye Meng looks stunning in a traditional Hanfu. To dodge a persistent Cheng Jingjing, Li Jinyu takes Ye Meng's hand, and they walk together among the beautiful lights. While making a wish on a fish lantern, Ye Meng openly describes her ideal partner, and Li Jinyu wishes for her dream to come true. As fireworks light up the sky, Ye Meng reflects on how the lifestyle in Ningsui is much more relaxed than in Jiangbei, with Li Jinyu listening quietly by her side.
The next morning, Li Jinyu installs the security camera for Ye Meng. His day is interrupted by Jiang Luzhi, who has returned to Ningsui for a classmate's wedding. She apologizes to Li Jinyu, clarifying that she and Gou Kai were never a couple and that Gou Kai had once pursued Ye Meng. She insinuates that Ye Meng is only getting close to Li Jinyu as a form of revenge. Li Jinyu dismisses her words, stating that his past connection with Jiang Luzhi was just an act.
Worried about what Jiang Luzhi might have said, Ye Meng vents to her best friend, Fang Ya'en, who questions whether Ye Meng will ever return to the city of Jiangbei she once fought so hard to stay in. Meanwhile, Jiang Luzhi tries to cause more trouble by telling Li Jinyu about Ye Meng's complicated family history. When her attempts at manipulation fail, she changes tactics and invites Li Jinyu to perform at the wedding. Ye Meng, watching her home's security feed, grows upset when she doesn't see Li Jinyu or Jiang Luzhi. Fang Ya'en makes a video call to check on them, confirming they haven't rekindled their relationship, which puts Ye Meng's mind at ease.
At the wedding, a fellow guest named Chen Jian mocks Ye Meng for her age and for being unmarried, but she quickly shuts him down with a sharp retort. Dr. Gao uses the opportunity to confess his feelings for her, but Ye Meng, though acknowledging he is a good man, gently turns him down. Li Jinyu, who was at the hospital with his grandmother, hears that Dr. Gao is at the wedding and rushes over, finding Ye Meng standing alone. They take a walk by the sea, where he denies coming to the wedding for her.
Their conversation is cut short by a call from Li Jinyu's mother, who claims to be sick to lure him to Jiangbei. Visibly upset after the call, Li Jinyu warns Ye Meng not to play games with him or try to "save" him out of pity. Angered by his words, Ye Meng takes him out for drinks to forget their troubles, and the experience brings them closer.
After a few drinks, Li Jinyu apologizes for his emotional outburst. In a grand gesture, Ye Meng stands up on a stage, declares that she will be his support system, and sings a heartfelt song to him. Deeply moved, Li Jinyu looks at her and they share a smile as another round of fireworks explodes in the night sky.
