The battle against Emperor Yue reaches its tragic and explosive climax. Despite Liu Jing's selfless suicide, his sacrifice is not enough to stop the Emperor. In a devastating turn, Emperor Yue's own brother then sacrifices himself, channeling his power into the Emperor and making him terrifyingly strong.
Faced with this overwhelming power, Han Li makes a strategic decision. He tells Chen Qiaoqian and the others to retreat to a nearby bamboo forest to prepare a powerful formation array, while he stays behind to buy them time.Han Li engages the Emperor, dodging a mighty blow but still sustaining injuries. The Emperor, impressed and greedy, notes how profound Han Li's true essence is for a cultivator only at the mid-Foundation Establishment stage. Han Li uses this opportunity to talk, stalling further. The Emperor vents his frustration, revealing that cultivators established the rule forbidding the royal family from practicing cultivation, forcing him and his talented brother to resort to forbidden arts. Han Li retorts that by killing so many innocent people for power, the Emperor has become the very evil he claims to despise, enraging him.
With enough time secured, Han Li flees to the bamboo forest. The Emperor gives chase, confident that he is safe as long as he doesn't enter the woods. However, Han Li springs the trap, revealing that the Emperor entered the formation array the moment he started his pursuit. The array activates, trapping the Emperor and tormenting him with visions of his past victims crying out for vengeance.
Even so, the Emperor's immense power proves too much for the array to handle alone. Just as he is about to break free, Wei Niang steps forward, revealing a talisman treasure. Han Li instantly recognizes it as one of a pair, with the other having belonged to Liu Jing. Wei Niang confirms it was a gift from him.She then unleashes the talisman's power, engulfing Emperor Yue in flames and reducing him to ashes.
In the aftermath, Han Li gathers the valuable magic items that survived the inferno. Song Meng arrives with grim news: they have found the body of their sixth junior brother in a secret chamber, dead after immense suffering. Song Meng hands Han Li the cultivation manual the Emperor used, warning him to study it but not to become lost in its dark power. Han Li promises he will eventually destroy it.
Later, Song Meng shares a painful secret with a grieving Wei Niang. He reveals that when they were young, an evil practitioner used them to test drugs. Liu Jing saved Song Meng's life but was grievously injured in the process, a wound that forever prevented him from reaching the Core Formation stage. He never told Wei Niang because he always wanted to be his best self in her eyes.
The intense battle pushes Han Li's own cultivation forward, allowing him to break through to the late-Foundation Establishment stage. His growing reputation leads Cui'er to ask to become his disciple, but he gently refuses.
Han Li prepares to leave, saying his goodbyes. He gives Mo Caihuan a letter, along with medicinal pills and prescriptions, urging her to live a peaceful and stable life. Heartbroken, she runs after him, but he is already gone, leaving her to wonder when, or if, they will ever meet again. He also informs the Qin family's butler of his departure, leaving the man stunned and thrilled to have known a true immortal.
His journey takes him back to Jiayuan City, which appears just as he left it. At an inn, he asks the waiter about the Mo family, only to learn they were completely wiped out and their companion, Qu Hun, has vanished. His eyes then fall upon a familiar bell hanging in the inn—the very one he had given to Qu Hun. The owner, seeing his interest, kindly offers it to him as a gift. In return, Han Li gives the owner a talisman and vanishes into thin air, telling him to hang it for protection. The ecstatic owner, realizing he has met an immortal, decides to rename his establishment "Yuxianlou" (Meeting Immortal Pavilion).
