The episode begins with an emotional farewell at the airport. Wang Yang pushes Liu Yan's luggage, his eyes filled with concern and reluctance to let her go. He tries to keep the mood light with jokes, hoping to cheer her up. Before she leaves, he gives her some US dollars and tells her to let him know if she runs out, promising to find more money for her. They share a final hug and say goodbye.

In the departure lounge, Liu Yan is starving. She finds a food counter and devours her meal, as if trying to swallow all her anxieties. Discovering that the tea is free, her eyes light up, and she asks for several glasses of a particular wine, drinking them one after another until it's all gone. As she becomes drunk, her mind drifts back to a childhood memory of being sick in the hospital. In the hazy recollection, her mother, Jiang Fang, was casually playing cards with another patient, completely ignoring her suffering. All she wanted was to speed up her IV drip so she could go home to her mother.

Liu Yan finally lands in the country of Gaya. On the street, she stumbles upon a scene where a young woman is being publicly and falsely accused of being a homewrecker. Seeing the crowd pointing fingers at the helpless and wronged girl, Liu Yan’s sense of justice kicks in. She quickly improvises, pretending to be the girl's assistant. Pointing to the items the girl is holding, Liu Yan explains with a serious expression that they were all bought for her mother's funeral, effectively defusing the situation. The girl is immensely grateful.

Following the address on a letter from Jiang Fang, Liu Yan drags her heavy luggage to her mother's old residence. A lawyer named Kevin is already waiting for her. With a solemn expression, he hands her Jiang Fang's last will and testament. Trembling, Liu Yan takes the letter, her only thought being to visit her mother's grave. Before she can process the news, two burly men barge into the house. Confused and unable to understand English, Liu Yan looks to Kevin for an explanation. He translates that Jiang Fang left behind a massive debt; if Liu Yan accepts the inheritance, she must also assume responsibility for the debt. Kevin conveniently omits this detail and pressures her to accept the inheritance quickly, taking her passport to make copies for the procedure. Unaware of the trap, Liu Yan hands it over, falling right into a carefully orchestrated scam.

The next day, filled with a deep longing for her mother, Liu Yan goes to the cemetery. She carefully arranges Jiang Fang's favorite pots and pans by the graveside and sits down, pouring out her heart and memories.Even though they hadn't seen each other for years, she feels her mother's presence there. Drinking alone, she hates Jiang Fang for breaking her promise to send for her once she was settled. Overcome with emotion, she impulsively tries to dig up the grave with her bare hands and is promptly arrested by the police.

At the police station, the investigation reveals shocking truths: the law firm Kevin mentioned doesn't exist, and there is no official record of Jiang Fang's death. The biggest bombshell is that Kevin is not a lawyer but her step-brother, with whom she shares no blood relation.Realizing she has been scammed by him, Liu Yan is distraught and begs the police for justice. To make matters worse, she learns the grave she desecrated belongs to the mother of He Guangyuan, the chairman of a powerful corporation.

Alone and helpless in a foreign country, Liu Yan calls her friend Tang Shuangshuang for help, but her boyfriend, Lu Tianchi, answers the phone. After hearing her story, Lu Tianchi, a lawyer, offers to take her case. When He Guangyuan's lawyer arrives at the station, Lu Tianchi has a plan. He instructs Liu Yan to hold the clean pots and pans and act as if she is in a state of mental confusion from grief. He then tells the opposing lawyer that his client is so heartbroken she has lost her senses. Seeing her dazed state, the lawyer believes the story and agrees to drop the matter.

Afterward, Lu Tianchi asks for his legal fee, but Liu Yan is broke. Anxious, she tries to run away but is quickly caught. They start to haggle over the price, which escalates into a physical fight. However, Lu Tianchi is no match for her, and after a few moves, he is defeated and forced to accept the lower fee she offers. Later, furious and seeking revenge, Liu Yan finds Kevin at his school and publicly confronts him, giving him a piece of her mind to vent her anger.
