Episode Summary
A modern-day office worker named Liao Tingyan is suddenly transported into a fantasy world. Thinking she's just going on a fun, no-stakes trip, she accidentally gets selected to serve a legendary and terrifyingly powerful demon, Sima Jiao, who has been sealed away for 500 years. As she enters his spooky mountain home and immediately tries to escape, he watches her, secretly amused.

It all kicks off on this magical place called Three Saints Mountain, which is covered in flowers year-round. Why? Because of the sheer power radiating from a guy named Sima Jiao, also known as the Cizang Daoist.This dude is a big deal. He's been sealed away on the mountain for 500 years, and the day he gets out is coming up fast, making everyone in the Three Realms super nervous.
Here’s the backstory: 500 years ago, there was a massive, chaotic war. Sima Jiao was the only one left alive, and he was just a baby. The Demon Realm found him and noticed a special totem on his forehead. They realized he had the purest form of demonic energy, which, ironically, was the only thing that could keep the peace. So, to control this power for the "greater good," they sealed him away, telling everyone he was just on a long meditation retreat.
Now, no one's sure what his deal is after all this time. To figure it out, the different realms decide to send a bunch of young women to "serve" him. Of course, it's just an excuse to get some spies on the inside to see if he's still a threat.
This is where our main character, Liao Tingyan, comes in. One minute, she's a totally normal office worker, heading home in a taxi after a long day. The next, there's a flash of light, and she blacks out. She wakes up in a completely different world, in a new, beautiful body. She's now the beloved "little junior sister" of the Qinggu Sect.
As she's freaking out about her new face and surroundings, a handsome guy walks in. He's her new Master, and he's surprisingly gentle and kind. He tells her they've been invited to the big event for Sima Jiao's release. All the sects are sending their disciples to the selection.
Liao Tingyan is not having it. She was tired of the corporate rat race in her world and isn't about to jump into another competition. But her Master coaxes her, saying it's no big deal and basically just a free trip since they have zero chance of getting picked. Sold on the idea of a free vacation, she agrees and they fly off on his awesome phoenix mount.
They arrive at the selection grounds, which are swarming with beautiful women. Her Master gives her a little push right into the middle of the crowd. While Liao Tingyan is just sightseeing and checking out all the pretty girls, a golden phoenix suddenly appears in the sky. It flies over the crowd, sprinkling golden light on just a few of the women, and—you guessed it—Liao Tingyan gets hit with the light. She's been chosen. The girls who actually wanted it are furious, and Liao Tingyan is just completely baffled. She was only there for the free tour!
The selected girls, including our confused hero, are led into Three Saints Mountain. The place is freezing cold and super creepy. Liao Tingyan tries to run for it multiple times, but a magical barrier keeps blocking her way.
And the best part? High above, Sima Jiao himself is watching the whole thing. He sees this silly girl repeatedly trying to escape and finds it absolutely hilarious.
