Episode Summary
Feng Qi learns Liao Tingyan is his long-lost savior and vows to rescue her from Sima Jiao. Liao Tingyan, suffering from amnesia, is caught in a web of manipulation by Shi Qianlv, who has cursed her with nightmares to turn her into a killer. Sima Jiao enters her dream, discovers the curse, and heals an old scar he once gave her. The episode ends with a tense confrontation when Feng Qi sneaks in to see Liao Tingyan, forcing her to choose a side and threaten Sima Jiao to protect Feng Qi.

Feng Qi's Desperate Search
Feng Qi is out of his mind with worry. He hasn't heard from Liao Tingyan in days. He goes to his master for help, looking completely defeated.
His master drops a bomb on him. He suspects Sima Jiao has captured Liao Tingyan. He also reveals her biggest secret. She is a "Han Yu," or Cold Fish, who once lived in the White Bone Abyss. This gives her an extremely rare cold constitution. Cultivators are desperate to get their hands on people with this body type to boost their own power. The master warns Feng Qi to back off now that Sima Jiao has her.
But this news just makes things worse for Feng Qi. He almost died in the White Bone Abyss once. Liao Tingyan was the one who saved him. Now he knows his savior is in trouble. He has no choice but to intervene.
Liao Tingyan's Confusing New Life
Sima Jiao has Liao Tingyan tucked away safely. A young woman named Zhou Yueqing shows up, wanting to serve Sima Jiao. She's the baby girl they both rescued years ago. Sima Jiao assigns her to attend to Liao Tingyan.
Liao Tingyan is completely lost. She has amnesia. She's confused when Zhou Yueqing calls her by her real name. Sima Jiao has been calling her "Shi Yan." She starts to wonder if Shi Qianlv has been lying to her this whole time. She can't tell who is a friend and who is an enemy.
It turns out, someone intentionally leaked her location to Feng Qi's people. They want to capture her. They believe using her cold constitution is the only way they can stand a chance against Sima Jiao.
A Nightmare and a Revelation
Shi Qianlv has cursed Liao Tingyan. He placed a "Gu" inside her. It triggers horrible nightmares whenever she feels a hint of compassion. The goal is to force her to become a killer.
Sima Jiao finds her tossing and turning all night. He decides to enter her dream to see what's wrong. Inside, he sees Shi Qianlv trying to make Liao Tingyan kill someone. Sima Jiao knows she would never hurt anyone. He understands Shi Qianlv is just trying to forge her into a weapon without any regard for her feelings. In the dream, Liao Tingyan is forced to kill. She collapses, staring at the blood on her hands, completely broken.
Sima Jiao immediately tries to calm her down in the real world. He holds her tightly as she struggles in her sleep. For the first time, she feels a sense of security. He asks her about the scar on her face. She tells him it was from a Spirit Fire he started years ago. Sima Jiao is consumed by guilt. He uses his spiritual power to heal the scar, leaving her face perfectly clear again.
A Confrontation in the Courtyard
Feng Qi doesn't give up. He disguises himself as a cook and sneaks into Sima Jiao's residence. He's overjoyed to see Liao Tingyan again. He promises that after Sima Jiao revives Hong Luo, he will get them both out of there.
Sima Jiao overhears everything. He appears instantly, blocking Feng Qi from getting any closer to Liao Tingyan. He tells Feng Qi to forget about ever taking her away. Feng Qi stands his ground. He says he would rather die right there than let Sima Jiao have her.
Sima Jiao's temper flares. He's about to attack Feng Qi. But Liao Tingyan steps between them. She looks Sima Jiao dead in the eye. She warns him that if he harms Feng Qi, she will become his enemy for life. Sima Jiao freezes. He backs down, looking heartbroken, and leaves her room.
