Plot Synopsis

Based on the award-winning novelQian Quan Yu Jue Jue, "This Thriving Land" (Original title:Sheng Wan Wu) is an epic drama that chronicles the intertwined destinies of three families—the Ning, Feng, and Fei—across two generations.Set against the backdropof shifting land ownershipin rural SoutheShandong, the story captures an unwavering neighborly bond and aprofound reverence for the soil that sustains them.

The narrative centers on Ning Xiuxiu (Yang Mi), the daughter of Tianniu Temple Village's wealthiest man, Ning Xuexiang (Ni Dahong).Her life takes a dramatic tuon her wedding day when she is abducted by bandits. In a stunning act of betrayal, her father refuses to sell his land topay her ransom. Instead, he marries off her younger sister, Ning Susu (Xing Fei), to Xiuxiu's own childhood sweetheart, Fei Wendian (Zhang Tianyang).

Shattered by her father's decision, Xiuxiu decisively severs their relationship. She finds an unexpected savior in Big Foot Feng (Ou Hao), a humble farmer who rescues her from the bandits, and she marries him.Thrust into a life of manual labor, Xiuxiu gradually learns the craft of farming and begins to understand the deep, almost spiritual connection between thepeasants and their land.
