Episode Summary
Mei Zhuyu crashes and burns Wu Zhen's awkward blind date, solidifying their relationship. After being kidnapped by the Wordless Book, Wu Zhen confesses her feelings for Mei Zhuyu and clarifies she only sees the Wordless Book as a friend. The episode ends with Mei Zhuyu getting the Emperor's blessing to marry Wu Zhen.

The Most Awkward Blind Date Ever
So, Mei Zhuyu is completely head-over-heels for Wu Zhen. He's so smitten that he can't even focus on his work at the Xuanjian Division. His coworkers are baffled. They thought he'd be moping after Wu Zhen kicked him out, but the guy is all smiles.
Wu Zhen, meanwhile, heads to the Ruyi Lounge to meet with Hu Zhu. But her sister, the Empress, has other plans. Huang Yi shows up with a guy named Song Yao from Yizhou. It's a surprise blind date. Wu Zhen is clearly not interested. The whole thing is super awkward and silent.
Then, Mei Zhuyu walks in. He sees what's happening and his mood instantly sours. He doesn't waste any time. He starts listing every single mistake Song Yao ever made while governing his region. He completely dismantles the guy's career in front of everyone. Wu Zhen can barely hide her smile. Before the disastrous date is even over, Mei Zhuyu grabs Wu Zhen's hand and pulls her out of there. Huang Yi is left standing there, totally stunned.
A Snowy Night and a Sudden Disappearance
Later, Wu Zhen and Liu Taizhen decide to go to the night market. They bring Mei Zhuyu and Mei Si with them. Mei Si, bless his heart, hears that Mei Zhuyu and Wu Zhen are a thing and immediately starts calling him "brother-in-law." Liu Taizhen pulls Wu Zhen aside for a serious chat. She warns her that falling in love is easy, but staying together is hard. She doesn't want Wu Zhen to end up with regrets like she did.
As the four of them are watching some street performers, it starts to snow. Mei Zhuyu gets emotional. He remembers his mother had a tradition of boiling three eggs every time it snowed. It was for good fortune and a peaceful year. Seeing the snow without her makes him tear up.
Wu Zhen goes to comfort him, but then she spots the Wordless Book in a nearby alley. She immediately gives chase, and Liu Taizhen follows her. The Wordless Book sets off a blast of demon fire as a distraction. The crowd panics, but Mei Zhuyu notices the fire isn't normal and puts it out. In the chaos, the Wordless Book knocks Wu Zhen unconscious and kidnaps her, disappearing into the Demon Market.
Confessions and a Rejection
Wu Zhen wakes up in the Demon Market with the Wordless Book. He confronts her about her feelings for Mei Zhuyu. She doesn't hold back. She tells him everything. We learn that as a half-demon, she's never fit in anywhere.In the Demon Market, she's an outcast. In the human world, people just see her as a wild noblewoman.For eighteen years, she's been caught between two worlds, belonging to neither. She says that Mei Zhuyu is the only person she can be herself with. He gives her a sense of peace.
She makes it very clear to the Wordless Book that she sees him as a dear friend, nothing more. He is furious, but he controls his anger and lets her leave.
A Royal Proposal
Mei Zhuyu is frantically searching for Wu Zhen when she reappears with Liu Taizhen. Wu Zhen hands him a warm, boiled egg, a nod to his mother's tradition. The gesture moves him deeply.
The next morning, Empress Wu summons Mei Zhuyu to the palace.He arrives to find Wu Zhen already kneeling on the floor, so he kneels beside her. The Emperor and Empress question them about their relationship. Wu Zhen is annoyed, thinking her sister is meddling again. But then Mei Zhuyu does something unexpected. He formally asks the Emperor for permission to marry Wu Zhen. He even says he's willing to accept a lower status to be her husband. The Emperor and Empress are thrilled.
Mei Zhuyu tells Wu Zhen he has to go back to Quzhou but promises to return in ten days. He then rides to Changxi Palace to see his martial brothers before he leaves.
