Plot Synopsis
A king is on his deathbed and gets it in his head that he needs an "immortality elixir". So, he gathers the sons of various lords, forms a "Princes' Camp," and tasks them with finding it for him.
The main crew is four young guys from totally different worlds. Jiang Wenhuan is a fearless troublemaker. Kunwu is a slave with a hidden past. Chong Yibiao is a tough warrior from the grasslands. And Xin Jia is the handsome flirt. When they're thrown together, they can't stand each other at first.
The show follows their journey from rivals to brothers who would trust each other with their lives. They investigate the so-called elixir and end up uncovering a massive conspiracy. Along the way, they go through all sorts of trials and finally learn the meaning of friendship and loyalty.
Let's be real, this is a historical teen adventure drama. Its main appeal is watching a group of good-looking young actors in a lot of fight scenes. The plot itself can be a bit basic, maybe even naive in parts, but there's plenty of action, which is satisfying to watch. The producers knew their audience well, focusing on eye candy and slick fight choreography.
The leads are newcomers like Li Zhuozhao, Zhang Kangle, and Yu Jiwei. You probably won't recognize their names, but they definitely look the part. For a show aimed at a young audience, good looks are a major selling point.
