Episode Summary
Tang Deyuan's plan to capture Xiao Tielin goes into motion, but it's hijacked by multiple betrayals. Tang outsmarts and kills Zhao Qingtian during the gold exchange, successfully capturing Xiao Tielin with the help of the resistance. However, the entire operation is a trap orchestrated by Tian Xiaogui and the Japanese commander, Kawano. The episode concludes with the resistance forces surrounded, and Tian Xiaogui revealing his allegiance by shooting a mysterious figure in a sack and taking a hostage.

The Walls Close In
Tian Xiaogui's Desperation
The episode kicks off with Tian Xiaogui. He's clearly hurting from his addiction withdrawal. He's worried the others, like Fuqing and Gao Yunhu, will see how bad he is. So, he ducks into a toilet to hide. Fuqing comes looking for him when he takes too long. To cover his tracks and snap himself out of it, Tian Xiaogui literally stabs himself in the thigh. He wraps it up and limps out, blaming his pale face on a cold. It's a brutal move, but it shows how far he's willing to go.
A Risky Doctor Visit
Later, Fuqing twists his ankle. Tian Xiaogui takes him to see a doctor. This isn't just any doctor, though. It's the same guy who's been supplying Tian Xiaogui with his drugs. The doctor is not happy about Fuqing showing up at their secret spot. While there, Tian Xiaogui spills the beans about the resistance's plan to grab Xiao Tielin. In return, the doctor gives him another injection.
This tips off the Japanese commander, Kawano. He gets a new order to Tian Xiaogui through the doctor. The plan has changed. Don't capture Xiao Tielin. Kill him.
Plans Go Sideways
The Gold Exchange
Tang Deyuan is trying to finalize the gold deal with Xiao Tielin. He wants to lure Xiao Tielin outside the police station for the handover. He argues it's too risky with Zhao Qingtian watching the station. But Xiao Tielin is paranoid. He refuses and demands the gold be brought directly to him at the station.
Meanwhile, Tian Xiaogui gets his new orders to kill Xiao Tielin. He also gives up the location of the resistance hideout, hoping to get them all caught in one fell swoop. He seems torn up about betraying his friends, but the doctor pressures him hard.
The Triple-Cross
Everything comes to a head at the exchange. Xiao Tielin, after a bout of paranoia where he talks to his pet parrot, finally agrees to meet outside. He packs his gold, sets his bird free, and drives to the meeting point.
Tang Deyuan is waiting. Just as the exchange happens, Xiao Tielin pulls a gun, thinking it's a trap. Tang keeps his cool, and Xiao Tielin lowers his weapon.
Then, Zhao Qingtian pops out from the trees with a gun aimed at Xiao Tielin. He wants to split the gold with Tang and tells him to shoot Xiao Tielin. Tang pretends to aim at Xiao Tielin. But then he spins and shoots Zhao Qingtian dead. It was a setup all along. Gao Yunhu and other resistance members appear and take Xiao Tielin away. As a bonus, Tang and Gao Yunhu also grab the traitorous doctor and throw him in their trunk.
The Ambush
The final scene is at the Black Pine Forest. Fuqing and Tian Xiaogui are waiting for the backup team. Tang Deyuan and Gao Yunhu arrive and pull a large sack from the trunk. Resistance fighters sent by Instructor Wang show up to retrieve the person in the sack, who they think is Xiao Tielin.
Suddenly, Kawano and his soldiers surround them. It was all a trap set by Tian Xiaogui. He immediately shoots the person in the sack and grabs a resistance soldier as a hostage. The episode ends right there, with everyone caught.
