Double Track Puzzle: All The Pieces Fall Apart

This episode was a masterclass in consequences. Everyone's secrets started to unravel, and the body count just kept climbing. It was messy. It was brutal. And it set the stage for a seriously intense endgame.

The Blackmail and The Bust

So, Bai Tao Hua decides to make her move. She corners Xiao Sheng at a KTV and shows him a video of him attacking the Old Chinese Doctor. Her deal is simple. He flips on Han Weidong and joins up with San Ma Hu, or the video goes public.

Xiao Sheng, of course, runs straight to Han Weidong. He says he'll handle it his own way. He sets up a meeting with Bai Tao Hua, but not before having a little run-in with Zhan Peng. The cop notices Xiao Sheng's very expensive watch and gives him a friendly warning. He tells him not to get in over his head. It's a nice little "I'm watching you" moment.

Things go sideways fast. Zhan Peng gets a tip and raids that same KTV to arrest a guy named Bao Ge. Bai Tao Hua happens to be there meeting with Bao Ge. They realize what's happening and make a run for it.

A Night of Chaos

The escape does not go well for anyone. Bao Ge, cornered, grabs Han Weidong's daughter, Han Xin, who was just dropping off food for a colleague. He uses her as a hostage. When he knows it's over, he slits her throat right before the police shoot him dead.

Bai Tao Hua doesn't fare any better. While trying to get away, she's hit by a truck and killed instantly.

Han Weidong rushes to the hospital, absolutely furious with Zhan Peng for not protecting his people. Luckily, Han Xin's artery wasn't hit. She survives the attack.

And the truck that hit Bai Tao Hua? We see it drive out to the middle of nowhere. Xiao Sheng gets out. He pushes the truck off a cliff into the sea and walks away. He thought he got away clean. He didn't. San Ma Hu never trusted him and had his man, Ping Tou Ge, tailing him the whole time.

The Walls Close In

Zhan Peng now has his own suspicions. He thinks Xiao Sheng is part of the Long Xing Tian Xia crew and puts his own people on him. At the same time, San Ma Hu decides it's time to really hurt Han Weidong and sets a trap for Xiao Sheng.

San Ma Hu calls Xiao Sheng, asking for help moving some "goods." Xiao Sheng agrees and walks right into an ambush at an old market. He and his guys are outnumbered and get beaten down. But one of Xiao Sheng's crew, Zhang Nanyi, manages to call for help. Zhan Peng's team shows up just in time to see San Ma Hu and his men flee.

The Final Confession and The Fallout

The police arrest Xiao Sheng. Even now, he tries to lie his way out of it. He tells Zhan Peng he was secretly working for the cops all along.

When Tu Hongjiang hears that Xiao Sheng is a suspect in the doctor's murder, he loses it. He storms into the interrogation room and tries to strangle Xiao Sheng. In the chaos, Xiao Sheng finally understands the Old Chinese Doctor was a police informant. The severity of the situation hits him. He confesses everything. He tells them his boss is Han Weidong.

The final dominoes fall quickly. Han Weidong is at home, packing his bags to run. He gets a visit from Sun Ge and Wang Zhihui, the general manager of his company. But we learn Wang Zhihui is actually the real big boss, the mysterious Mr. Jiang.

Just as Zhan Peng's team raids the Han Group headquarters, it's too late. Han Weidong has fallen from the building to his death, leaving a suicide note on his desk. In the final scene, we see Mr. Jiang back in his own office. He calmly crosses Han Weidong's name off a wall covered in photos.
